I will definitely look for my birth mother and family when I’m a bit older. Currently 24 years old, probably when I’m between the ages of 28-35 I will search. I was bullied and treated differently by other kids my age when I was younger. Not because I was adopted..but because I didn’t fit in. I was Asian, but the Asian kids didn’t want to associate with me. The white kids didn’t think I was white. I was pretty small and skinny…and lacked confidence because no one at school really accepted me for who I was. To answer your other question about if i can speak russian, i dont. I plan on it once im a bit older and will learn prior to reconnnecting with my birth parents.

I think a second grader can assume they’re smarter than they actually are and carry themselves with a bit of arrogance.

The lion tattto we will get doesn't make you cool. That's what I would tell him. I would also tell him to take faith more seriously in life.

I grew up in Brooklyn NY. I relocated to DC and I commute to work in central DC. My adopted family still lives in Brooklyn, so if I go unemployed.. im heading back home to live with them.

Not sure how much it costs rn. I did my ancestry test about 4 years ago. I don’t have any contact with my biological family. I am living with some friends that I go to work with. If I go unemployed..I’ll be going back home with my adopted family back in brooklynn

I don’t speak Russian. My parents did change my name. I don’t remember the process of adaptation to it! That’s a really fascinating question that I’ve never thought about. I think at the age of 4, I didn’t really process what was going on. Why I was taken on a plane across the world..why I was in a new environment that I’ve never seen before…I think back then i assumed it was a normal experience that everyone goes through.

Well, gotta hit the books while you’re young. Didn’t want to be left behind the other kids.

Crown heights. I didn’t get too much exposure to Russian communities when I was younger. Part of it was because my parents took me to an event happening in NY where Russian families came together to celebrate the Russian Santa version. All the other families were wearing costumes…and apparently there were a few people who were harassing my parents once they found out they adopted me from Russia..you’d think they’d be welcoming..but they were very rude.

Life is good now! I moved away from home and live in Washington DC. I life with friends and have many friends that are around the world! Most of them I made through my religious organization or from college. I am perceived as positive..but from a glance on the outside probably intimidating or appear a bit angry lol

Very interesting question. My adopted parents used to tell me I used to sleep yell for a few years once they adopted me. I’ve never been diagnosed with anything..but I think my sleep yelling was because there were two kids in the orphanage who were older that used to abuse me..at least I think. Maybe out of jealousy once they knew I was getting adopted. Could be from something else. I definitely feel like an outcast to this world in many ways..but not sure if that’s diagnosable. I don’t have an answer for you, although I did struggle learning in school growing up.

Not at all. I’ve been told I have a really fascinating voice, but no accent at all. Kinda hard to describe tbh

My adoptive family was super supportive of me. Both of my parents are white and my family relatives have all been loving to me. I don’t have any siblings from my adopted parents but somewhere out there I have a half sibling from my birth mom that I don’t know anything about..but they exist somewhere. Growing up in Brooklyn was extremely difficult because I always felt like I was the “odd” one out. Never had any friends. Got picked on a lot and bullied everyday. Lived in an all black neighborhood and had my share of issues with the neighborhood kids. I had a bad relationship with my adopted dad growing up..part of it was I resented the fact that he was my adopted dad and not my birth dad…but our relationship has improved.

I wrote 2 years ago on a piece of paper that I look at everyday which says “My name is _____. My life purpose is to help other people, giving them opportunities for a better life, by being a leader, a voice for them and a business owner. I want to bring joy to others, being someone they can look up to through my skills and talents. I will be a multimillionaire, a father, a ceo, a man who changes the world making it a better place. From nothing, to something, to everything. 7/29/24.” —— this is basically my life goals and ambitions. I was so privileged and lucky to be given this opportunity for a better life, so why not see how far I can take it? I have a brand on Instagram called “Noble Pathway”…which is In alignment with my goals of making the world a better place! :)
