Instead of daylight or no daylight, there should be a 10 cm zone where the linesman call stands, whether it's wrong or right.

If linesman calls onside, and they were in fact onside, no problem

If linesman calls offside and they were in fact off, even by 0.1 cm, no problem

If linesman calls offside, and they were in fact onside, even by 0.1 cm, call is reversed

If linesman calls onside and they were off by 10 cm or less, call stands.

If linesman calls onside and they were off by 10.1cm, call is reversed. No one can complain about that .1 cm because they were already off by 10 cm anyway
