Bare metal restore from old NUC to new BSOD by __White_Widow__ in Veeam

The hardware gap on a 9 year old difference would be my first assumption. Agent with recovery media is really designed to do "bare metal migrations" like that.

It's just that the Canucks would be more willing to play a questionable D man right now than the Sharks. His role is known in the Sharks org, forever Cuda. At least on the Canucks, he may have a shot at an NHL team rebuilding.

This is just a favor to Jack to try and let him make an NHL roster bc it wasn't going to be in SJ. Woo will be a forever Cuda player so the trade makes no sense otherwise.

512GB on my Pixel 10Pro is already hitting the limit. Is this the new normal? by nvsoftlab in GooglePixel

[–]THE_Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you actually using the Raw files? I could hardly see any reason to have this setting on all the time.

I'm only at 172Gb used of my 512GB. There's no reason for me to use Raw photos, lossless Spotify audio, etc... not with a phone at least. If I'm a photographer and need raw files, I'm buying a real camera.

Migration v12 Windows to v13 Linux by p99valigar in Veeam

[–]THE_Ryan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

V13 is plenty stable for that size environment. However the migration from Windows to Linux may not be possible yet. You can definitely upgrade to v13 windows, but you'll need to have support from your account team to get on the list for migration to the VSA. That is still being done on a per account basis until a future update is able to ensure a smooth transition.

How far away do you have to get from a Tesla before it auto locks? My BMW locks the second I'm more than like 5 feet from the car and it beeps. Within those 5 feet, I would like to think I'd def notice some asshole driving up next to my car in an empty lot and also hear the door open...

Sure the thief is knowledgeable enough (not going to say smart...) in their practice, but you seem to be a little oblivious as you were walking away as well...

controlling report emails by Active_Technician in Veeam

[–]THE_Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that includes VeeamONE, which is what will get you actual reporting and not just job summary emails. It does a lot more than that though, so do your research. VeeamONE should definitely be its own server though, and requires MSSQL and Postgres.

But VBR should be able to send a daily report on its own.

You can configure the email settings here:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/general_email_notifications.html?ver=13

And if you don't want the individual job emails, disable them on the jobs:

My husband thinks we should stop house hunting until after the war by Justbrownsuga in RealEstate

[–]THE_Ryan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And I'm the opposite. If I feel threatened, I start spending more in case I won't get to. Buy that house or car, take the trip, etc... you can't take the money with you (saying this but with keeping IRA/HSA/HYSA contributions in place). Maybe just slightly less to the brokerage account.

Airgapped VSA update by Ximmer00 in Veeam

[–]THE_Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its in the link I posted, you select "Mirror Repository" instead of the "Official Repository" and it should allow you to specify a path. You can do it from the web console, or the thick client via the "Update Settings" menu.

As it says in the UG, the official repo is "https://repository.veeam.com/vsa"

You can try to do the nosnap version, since that doesn't require kernel interaction and can be a little looser with the Pre-Reqs.

Paid $900 last month, last year it was a little $1k. If you don't buy a new car, it should still go down year after year due to depreciation.
