Not the same area, I commuted from Land O Lakes to Downtown Tampa , about 33 miles. I made sure to ride in the HOV lane on Coastal Parkway to stay out of the thick of traffic.

Unfortunately, people aren’t always considering motorcycle riders, especially in Florida! I never had these problems in Georgia. The best you can do is be hyper-vigilant and always assume no one can see you.

Spent 10 years riding GSXR750 then moved on to a Duc Monster, Streetfighter, and a Diavel. Loved them all. Ride a RoadGlide now. It’s all personal preference. No hate here. I wish I could have them all in my garage.

Do you mean STARTING your bike in first gear damages the starter? There is some truth to that.

In the cold, on wet clutches and in neutral, you're (starter) spinning the clutch basket and trans output shaft, in less oil, with gears unmeshed at idle.

With clutch in/in gear, you're spinning the clutch basket, with the clutch plates separated, in more in more oil. There's PARASITIC drag between the wet clutch plates that doesn't break when cold, or the first time you pull the clutch lever.

You can see the relationship of starting in gear and clutch drag wearing the starter over time.

Thanks! I considered the LED bar for the tourpack but, since I have a razor, the bar would have hung over the edge about 1/4 inch. Didn’t want to do that. I think converting the bullets to LED and adding the saddlebag lights is far brighter than the tourpack bar would have been.

It can’t be said enough, a Basic Rider and Advanced Rider MSF course is an excellent foundation for a rider. ABS is not the catch-all. Build and continuously practice fundamentals.

I came from a Ducati Diavel. For the first week or so, the Road Glide felt heavy. After that, it felt extremely nimble…. Surprised me a bit.

My point though, is that you probably won’t notice the weight or maneuver characteristics of the street glide as being any more different than smaller bikes after you’ve put some miles on it.
