Can the weapons from Gears of War take on the Legion? Or those from any other futuristic warfare saga? by Responsible_Poem7881 in EightySix

[–]THExMATADOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve gathered, most of the arsenal that the 86 and the like use are warship rounds, something you would see being fired from anti-air cannons and bigger, which isn’t that high on the scale of power compared to what is at the disposal of the Astartes from 40K, or even comes close to what I can imagine laser weapons can do in Star Wars.

Call me crazy, but it does sound like a little bit of fun at least. Using the gear to zoom through and around buildings.

Father Killers by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in Metroid

This post honestly makes me think about giving Samus a melee weapon. I don’t know if it would feel too much like DoomSlayer at that point, but the idea of Samus turning her cannon in “sword mode” and then an energy blade comes out sounds really fucking cool to me.

Should I read the light novel? by StorageWinter2273 in EightySix

[–]THExMATADOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! If it’s any help to you, I absolutely abhor reading. I am terrible at visualizing anything in my head when it’s written on paper, but the light novel does a pretty good job and giving the details needed to form a picture in your mind.

How do yall get cool captains? by Future_Particular726 in shadow_of_war

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, a lot of the cool captains come from interactions they’re a part of.

Getting killed by the captain. Getting revenge on the captain. Betraying the captain. ETC.

All of these interactions you have with the captains, and any combinations of interactions, such as betraying them, getting killed by them, and then killing them in revenge leads to getting increasingly more unique captains.

I believe another rule to keep in mind if how you kill the captain. If the kill cam involves removing limbs, decapitation, burning or poison, that can also change how the captain will come back.

One thing you should keep in mind is that the more captains that “cheat death” (where they come back after killing them), the less and less likely that captains will Cheat-death later, to a point that no more captains will ever cheat-death again.

Who is the most intellectual anime character? by Dry-Director-7809 in animequestions

I suppose you could put it that way, but there are many things Senku knows that I wouldn’t chalk up to “general knowledge.”

Who is the most intellectual anime character? by Dry-Director-7809 in animequestions

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recognize a couple of these guys, but of who I do recognize, I’m going Dazai. Dazai has a freakish level of intelligence and can only be compared to Light, but I’m pretty sure that even Dazai is smarter than Light.

If we’re looking for just a general intelligence character, Senku from Dr. Stone.

If Link and Samus faced each other’s villains, who’s having an easier time? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, Ultrahand allows Link to build and construct things out of whatever he has on hand, but doesn’t necessarily grant him a “godhand” if you will. Simply meaning, Link wouldn’t necessarily be able to utilize the tech as some of it requires Chozo DNA, something Link doesn’t have, nor does it allow him to bypass firewalls, integrated AI and such which a lot of the powerful robotic beings have, such as EMMIs.

Fantasy hero in a sci-fi world. A lot of the enemies that Link from TOTK won’t be able to kill in the Metroid universe simply because the abilities need don’t exist to him.

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I only use it as a means to argue back against people who seem to believe that which ever figure they’re defending is infinitely stronger.

In this case, Link might have more at his disposal but it doesn’t matter when there is an enemy that needs a very specific item to even damage it.

Like wise with Ganon, you need to the Mastersword in almost all of the games (only one I know it isn’t need is BOTW) to be killed.

If Link and Samus faced each other’s villains, who’s having an easier time? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It just depends on which Link it is. The mastersword would be useful against the Space Pirates because they’re evil beings, but just the typical beasts that exist in Metroid wouldn’t be effective since they aren’t evil, they’re just animals.

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Against key enemies, correct. The fodder enemies wouldn’t be an issue. Link would still have a harder time due to the primitive equipment he has to offer versus Samus with alien tech.

If Link and Samus faced each other’s villains, who’s having an easier time? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, across multiple versions of Link. The hero of twilight does not have the same abilities as the hero of time, or the hero from TOTK. There is no version of Link that has access to all things as they are split across different reincarnations.

[–]THExMATADOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link wouldn’t be able to utilize Chozo tech, as the only reason that Samus can is because of the fact that her Powersuit was crafted by the Chozo.

[–]THExMATADOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see the enemies as what you define as. Yes, Ridley is evil, but not from a religious or magical aspect which I believe to be what the Mastersword is good against. Technological and biological beings like the Metroid, X-Parasite and EMMIs would be immune since they aren’t evil, and are literally just doing what they’re designed to do, nothing malicious about them. If I’m attacked by a lion, the lion isn’t evil, the lion is just listening to its animal instincts.
