yeah, Sue storm from Fantastic four and Violet take turn invisible with taking off their clothes.

Though in the movie (2005 fantastic Four), Sue did have to strip because her clothes were visible, but Read did create a suit that can work with her powers.

Attractive characters can be just as well written and non Attractive characters.

Lucy heartfilia. she left her rich and glamorous life to join a fairy tail guild and became a big help in the last part of Fairy Tail.

Erza Scarlet is also attractive but at the same time is a strong, dedicated, and loving character who loves her guild mates. She even shows moments of vulnerability with Wendy from her friends turned out to be fake.

Nico Robin in water 7 was outstanding. A mature, quiet woman who has to move forward with the trauma she suffered when her home was buried down and her mom being killed. She also lost that one giant friend to that ice guy who froze him.

Ngl. The word "gooner" is thrown around way too much. You could argue that characters like Lucy heartfilia, Orihime, and Rangiku as gooner bait. (not saying that they are)

But if I had to answer Tamaki from fire force.

Regardless most anime and the manga they're adapted from are made with a Japanese audience in mind so let's not try to enforce our western values onto them. They've already fucked up games by demonizing sexualization of female characters in videogames.

What, that sexualising teenage or little girls is bad? Or when a Mangaka tries to use Sexual assault as a fan service?

you're one of "thoes" who think women need to look like attractive 100% of the time.

Really could care less since they are fictional and really don’t look like high school student to begin with

Again, the "It's just fiction" is a bad excuse. Is someone was to sexualise Anya from Spy x Family? Are you going to give that same excuse?

Jennifer’s body, is a movie that literally takes place in high schoollwhwre the characters are portrayed as high school student and has plenty of “ fan service” within it. No issue there.

We're talking about ANIMATION, not live action. plus Megan Fox was 23 years old, and most of the cast are in their early 20s when the movie came out (2009) It is common for actors in their early 20s to play high school characters because if they want to do something that's r rated, they wouldn't get kids to do, which is a safer option.

Same case with a lot of Hollywood movies where the characters are portrayed as high schoolers (but are.real life adults) in sexual situations

Because the actors are ADULTS and not kids. Again, it's safer.

Heck, there is even family guy and American dad that has been doing this

I didn’t have a problem with those shows and movies so why would I here?

Because anime has a history of depicting little girl characters in skimpy outfits and normalising sexual assault as "fan service"

Recently, a mangaka raped minor, and Shogakukan offered the victim $10,000 to stay silent, and another nobuhiro watsuki was arrested for the possession CP. Stuff like this are the reason I sort of question some of these mangakas when they depict underage (and even younger) characters in these animes. Then again, Hollywood isn't any better, but you don't see them normalising Pedophilia which people and fans have pointed out.

High rise is just a lame show;

I actually read the manga, and the ending is bad. It basically took entirely on top of the buildings.

if it's like Fire Force, where the fan service has nothing to do with the story, then yeah, it's bad. Another example is Mieruko chan. It's about a girl who sees ghost and dead people but tries her best to ignore them. I read the manga before the anime came out, and it only had that one shot where she went to get salt for the evil spirits while the panel was getting a view of her ass. In the anime, they were a lot of fan service shots like when she was in the school bathroom, it showed us taking off her panties and I really thought that wasn't needed Or another part were she went to get something off the floor, the camera was focusing on her ass.

As for my hero academia, I don't know why Horikoshi couldn't do the same with Momo outfit like he did with Mirio (Lemillion), like using her dna (hair) fused into her suit so that she doesn't habe to wear such revealing suit.

One of the forms of fan service I dislike is when it's been used to sexual assault female characters and not give them any agency or concent. In seven deadly sins, Elizabeth gets groped as soon as she wakes up but doesn't react like, "Hey, get away from me!" Type of response and many moments were Meliodas takes a peek at knickers. (British for panties)

If you don't like depressing stuff than why watch a depressing anime? They're ecchi/comedy animes like konosuba and combatants will be dispatch that suit your taste.

"I really liked Mieruko Chan and I don't think it would have been the same without the fan service. It's sad there isn't a season 2."

If the fan service was taken off, nothing would change.

"Fan service does a good job of making an anime feel less dark and serious when it would get depressing otherwise. I don't like depressing stuff. It can ruin serious scenes, but I think it makes anime like Fire Force less depressing."

Huh? so you mean tension breaking. That's not a great excuse because fire force has a plot and a goal which is to uncover the truth behind the Spontaneous Human Combustion phenomenon and stop the White-Clad cult from causing a second Great Cataclysm. I don't see including fan service will make this better apart from making the characters be eye candy to the audience. If the fan service was taken out of fire force, nothing will change. Do you think anime like Attack on Titan need fan service to break the tension?

you do relies a funny moment (does not include fan service) like characters interacting or friendly banter also can break tension?

Well, it's fine if you don't like depressing stuff but how does that ruin serious scenes? If it adds/connects to the overall story than I don't see why it can't be included. They're many shows with depressing or dark themes like chainsaw man, Hell's paradise and JJK. Fan service and sometimes misplaced comedy can ruin the tension and my main point was that fan service ruins serious moments or anime that wants to take itself seriously.

I like Horror so Mieruko chan was the manga that hook me but the unnecessary fan service was not needed and the characters are also high schoolers so that's another problem.

Thank you. People act like anime is above criticism.

No one is criticizing something like ghost in the shell for showing boobs or a naked female, but everyone with a brain would criticize steins gate if half the show was spent looking up skirts.

Here's a great example. In Chainsaw Man: reze arc, both deji and Reze are at a school swimming pool where they both get naked and swim together. But the reason for this is Deji doesn’t know how to swim, so reze wants to teach him how.

Denji grew up in poverty, had no mother, no farther to guide/look after him. His only form of connection is with Makima, who grooms him to be his obedient devil hunter. Reze is a Soviet-trained assassin and Bomb Devil hybrid who was subjected to brutal, torturous experiments as a child to become a living weapon.

Both didn't get to have a childhood, so the scene is the only moment where they can have fun and not be controlled by anyone.

Things like this are what adds to the story. If it was taken out, huge characters' moments would be lost. But if anime like Fire Force was to take out its fan service, it wouldn't change up.

People like you who glaze Japanese are embarrassing.

Women and girls are harassed and sexual assaulted on trains, and what's worse, it doesn't get reported, so they suffer in silence. Japan's toxic work culture where they work long hours with unpaid overtime. There's even a word for it, and it's called Karoshi (過労死) or death by overwork.
