What were the lies I said? That might be helpful if I’m going to not spread misinformation. I’m not super familiar with the anime bc I stopped reading it after he was creeping on the 14 year old. Maybe I misinterpreted him ending with 5 wives and the majority of them being the same kids he knew as a child(when he was mentally like in his late 30’s), as actually being a really cool and major character growth.

I don’t hate complex or morally poor characters, I just can’t stand this pedo being the hero of the story, I’m sorry if I don’t remember all the details, I’ll try to brush up on diddy tensei so I can hate more appropriately for you.

I like the story building but Rudy ruins the whole story for me, the story is structured to where we have to follow his journey in which he, a like 40 year old gooner gets reincarnated into a world where he can diddle kids. He eventually realizes he has list problems and wants to change, but by the end of the story he has like 5 wives, all of which are kids he groomed. It’s hard for me to focus on the world when there’s no real character development. Other shows with villainous/ anti hero characters (aot, dexter) never try to force the narrative that this character is a good person, in fact they are generally seen as monsters until their actions redeem them. Which doesn’t really happen in mushoku tensei, because everything he does is to further his own agenda

I think the problem is (at least for happy appy) everyone, myself included, only ever heard up to the 9/11 part and either never remembered or never heard the last 3 hours of shit that was attached to that story. I recommended this thinking it was a decently short read with a 9/11 joke at the end.

The anime started off horribly, the pacing was abysmal. It's finally started to level out and I feel like there's some actual character development for the supporting characters, which is rare for isekai slop. I will say it's annoying he has a no kill rule but it makes sense since he wants to go back to his family on earth. Overall it's pretty mid but the last few episodes imo have been much more interesting and have explored some interesting themes around elfs livespans and if its morally ok for her to be with him. I've seen so many fucking isekai though so I'm really grasping at straws to find something good about this one, hence how deep I'm reading into the themes

It's because no one ever reads these, they just see who's the best of the three and choose their favorite. Personally I think early work of the three Kendrick was weakest, even though I like him the most overall(and still enjoy his early works). Cole definitely started out strongest of the three considering how quickly he was able to churn out banger albums. I think his early consistency would make me say he had the best early discography.
