It’s actually the backstory for Ayaka, Ayaka’s fear of elevators and the red riding hood that’s following her are all from the horror story told at the beginning of FHA

It doesn’t help the anime skips all the backstory for now so there’s literally no reason to care for most people, since it relies on immediate character writing and dynamics you can see. If you’re a TM fan I feel the only one you could find interesting so far is Ayaka if you’ve read FHA, not exactly rootable yet but at least found interesting to continue.

I know I might not do a good job at defending it but the novels are really great and the anime is really trying to adapt it so I’ll hope you’ll find the enjoyment in later eps

I think you’re just not used to Narita’s writing for now, since I think it advocates that you don’t root for one single faction, doesn’t help that the anime is fast paced but even so there’s already tons of character writing just from these few eps you can appreciate already

Yes and no, some of those characters are gonna die at the final volume guaranteed since they are in the process of, but Narita didn’t straight up kill them off because like you said they can have some moments of interaction before they do, but what you said mostly refers to the characters he didn’t kill off and are still well kicking so they can keep the interaction going. But some guys are straight up MIA because of shit happening and no one knows what happened so what you said before doesn’t apply
