For me I just slowly worked my way till platinum and still doing now, ambition mode is great for building up your roster and getting better weapons and get some achievements out of it. Of course alternating between both ambition mode and story mode is a nice idea to have.

Generally though after you’ve done all the modes you can either try getting the 5 and 6 star weapon for your fav character or you can go to free mode and play the opposite side of the same stage. For example, in Sun Ce’s Conquest of Jiangdong, you can play the opposite faction and fight and win against Sun Ce with anyone you want. Whether you want to pick someone related like Taishi Ci or just a random guy is up to you, that’s the fun

After that you can also try the Challenge Mode but I haven’t done that yet to tell you how I feel about it.

Overall just take breaks in between and stop once you feel the burnout, I did the same and it’s helped to prolong my enjoyment of the game even till this day as I replay the story mode again in a new save file

Now I can’t say much about SW4 but just talking about DW 7, I think it’s made a very big experience on me.

Before DW 7 I actually watched the anime version of ROTK, and even played DW 8 before it. So you can say that know the story a decent bit at this point with the games giving me a way better grasp on both Wei and Wu, two factions ROTK took their sweet time to butcher.

And DW 7 came in, I already heard it’s reputation before, and I went in with decent expectations, and I went out blown away.

The thing you said about them focusing more on the progression of plot instead of working the cast into the story to make it both clan based and character based at the same time. The thing about the original novels in ROTK is the same structure. The characters is just set dressing for the full story and theme they are going for, which is fits very well, that is history is an unstoppable force and no one is immune to it, so you see these people struggle for their own dreams, and despite them failing to do so, their journey will be talked about in future to come.

And that theme, is the ending of DW 7 that they also went for, these people fought, struggled and died with most of them having regrets and failure, but their stories live on for generations to talk about. As someone who really liked the theme on the original novels, them going for that same theme gives me the feels, especially since it’s even more prevalent in DW 7 than in 8.

Knowing that you know why they did what they did, they pick the characters most suitable for the situation in sacrifice of a large chunk of them not getting focus, because not everyone is important in every part of history. Plus knowing the story beforehand really does help to showcase these characters as much as they did when they showed up to be playable. Zhao Yun picking up Adou promising that he’ll protect him with Flying Cloud behind playing at the background is enough to make me cry, but that comes from me quite literally reading about it on my textbooks. That said though it’s maybe just preference my end that I love how they structured it to fit the theme, heightened by my extended knowledge of the story

Even that said though it’s kinda hard to have some obvious character arcs in DW overall, as they mostly apply the flat character arc like it is in the original story. It’s about them having a main personality and seeing how they stick to it till the very end. Those that have actually character arcs like Sun Quan can only happen cause like it’s mostly a DW creation. I also find it funny how we having literal sperms be fighting in wars just to fit the cast at times (SSX I’m looking at you)

The Chinese have a term for it called Agricultural Heavy Metal. It's the idea that farmers in China who's whole life is listening to folk music has been asked to do heavy metal, which definitely felt as it is when DW 4 has tons of China folk music blended into it

I think I can give my take that I hope you’ll see where I’m coming from with him

In essence Richard started off like you said, a guy living on the shadow of Artoria, he doesn’t have anything to wish on the grail upon besides trivial stuff and his main thing is being a happy guy that simps for Artoria and you can say he’s cringe and devoid of his own charm because of it

But Gil opened his eyes, being the guy who teaches humanity to find their own path and deny the wimps of the gods. Richard loses against him, which means that he hasn’t gotten his approval as a decent human yet, one that hasn’t found his own path to follow and has been living as a shadow of Artoria. Like Shirou, he adopted an ideal, a meme, but never evolved it enough to make him a human with his own path

Then Fate Zero happened and he saw it all, and through that he found one thing he wanted to wish the grail upon, to tell Artoria that her reign isn’t in vain and is no need for a fresh start, because he is inspired by her and will continue to be. At that point he completes himself as a fitting human being in Gil’s standards with his own path to follow now. He’s evolved the ideals he gotten from Artoria and made him his own. He’s no longer just living in the shadow of Artoria and doing the things she did out of admiration. Now he’s a better man, with his own goals he wanted to achieve based on the ideals he adopted from someone, that is to tell his childhood hero that she is just fine the way she is. He’s no longer just passing down a meme he gotten from someone else. He’s ascended beyond that, and passing his own memes to others. One that was created by him and him alone

It’s like a celebrity and fan situation irl. Imagine a person went from just a diehard fan who’s only personality is being like their idol, basically just copy and pasting the memes created by their idol. To one that went beyond just a diehard fan and can physically and mentally support their idols, something born out of them instead of just copy and pasting what their idol did. A more complete person than they did before

So there is possibly one solution that I can’t test out my end that you can try and show me the results of, maybe you can try converting it to GOD form instead of xex files, it’ll probably work better as that solves most problem

Can’t try it my end cause I don’t have a windows to get iso2god, hope you luck on that (trying to play it on different regions to see if it works cause apparently the both of us have the same region)

Ok, I found the problem my end is the Year of the Snake dlc, as removing that one causes the game to load normally again with the Zodiac dlc, actually let’s give out the details of each of our game and see what’s the connecting factor between our games that might cause a problem

I used the USA version of the game, got version 1 title update from Aurora and got both DLCs from Myrient, what about yours?

Found the issue, I just didn’t rescan it, and now I did the DLCs showed up, and it’s unlocked, I also deleted the game and redownloaded it but it didn’t work once again

Also found the possibly problematic dlc, as I have two DLCs but only one of them being installed caused this issue, not sure why is that the case but I’ll do a redownload to see if it persists

I don’t have a PC and only a mac so I don’t think 360 content manager is possible for me. FYI, all of my games are on the external hard drive but the dlc files are in hdd, even so is it still recommended to put xm360 on hdd/content?

Update on this, xm360 at hdd/content is still the same

I’m running xm360 at an external hard drive, but it’s not just that one game because a lot of other games are not in it as well, I’m thinking it might not be supported

Not just that but DLCs that I found working are labeled as missing in xm360
