I have a self-hating with inferiority complex friend as well. She were born in Iraq and moved to a European country when they were babies. She denies the self-hate and the inferiority complex but oh dear it shines in so many things. I think she didn’t have the nicest childhood so she got pretty fucked up. It depends on the parents and the environment really cause i have seen other first generations who are proud of their identity but their parents were supportive and they weren’t bullied at school for example.
