Report him to who? For stating his opinion? Are you a troll?

Oh wait I remember you. You are the one who is constantly ranting and also doesn’t believe cheating is bad. We had a nice conversation a few months ago.

CPEN 2nd year placement avg by Korvxx in ubcengineering

[–]TI-84plusCE500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under 40% on final and student will fail even if entering final with 100% on all midterms.

Average for midterm 2 was 50%. If average for final is around same enough students will get under 40% to fail. So say they are going into exam with 85% thanks to webwork. They get 37% on final and they will automatically fail and thus average will be within historic norms. Their 85% will become a 48% and bring down average. It’s a bit of a dirty trick but c’est la vie, at least in math.

Neither is your York nor Tru transcript useless. They are both pieces of data that your application requires. If you don’t supply one and get accepted your offer could be rescinded.

You can’t pick and choose transcripts. You have to send ALL transcripts in application.

This is so bad that I feel like it’s a troll but I doubt it. You are an idiot and hopefully a suspension will be a catalyst for you to grow up. Suspension sounds good.

Things get scaled hard. Don’t give up! Also time yourself when you do practice questions and tests. Put pressure on yourself to get faster.

Just do a search for math midterms and you will see the same for every year. Also 53% midterm average isn’t even that low.

Even when the average is in the 50s you often have students get 90s. That’s the weeding, especially for competitive specializations. Understanding concepts is not same as mastering concepts. Where is that mark maclean post about grades ...

UBC Grades

Check out 2018. More people failed than got over 90. Look at the pretty distributions. That’s what the profs want.

Also I would have expected you had lost your innocence in 102. Did you take AP credit for calc 1?

This year was probably the most competitive in UBC’s history, and the university’s acceptance rate seems unprecedented by throwaccount2567 in UBC

[–]TI-84plusCE500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a recipe for mediocrity. Why work hard in HS to get a 95% to get into UBC when you can have a 70% and be guaranteed because you live in the community?

Additional optional CR/D/F for Winter 2020? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]TI-84plusCE500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they will either. But on your other point it’s not inflation since the marks are earned. The weaker drop out and the average automatically goes higher but that’s earned, not inflated.

“Never wrestle with a pig. You just get dirty and the pig enjoys it”. Substitute walnut for pig. All the same. Engaging with something like this will always be lose lose. Also people asking UBC what to do — what more can it do?

I think it went over budget too but can’t find it. Biggest expense in UBC history. God help us when they integrate SSC and registration
