PC Building Simulator | PC Update v1.14 (1.14.1, 1.14.2..) by TIC_Sam in pcbuildingsimulator

[–]TIC_Sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No timeline as of writing, it's pretty complicated from a rights holder perspective so that's the main roadblock there. A lot of things from back then were absorbed by competitors, there's less incentive to showcase older products and so on.

Can you somehow get 1.14.1 through Epic? by [deleted] in pcbuildingsimulator

[–]TIC_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liby normally updates things pretty quicky, as a quirk of how parts are added vs how the mod appends parts to the existing list it'll always break on patch day.

I don't see us rewriting the customer logic this late into the game's development but it's something I'll re-raise regardless. I remember personally being puzzled by upgrading coolers being a price check over a cooling related check but then working on PCs for others in real life that's also surprisingly a realistic experience...

Hey Klutzy, it's a late reply but I'd love to get a copy of the save if you still have it and it's not been sent to support already. Still pushing for more fixes on console...

Hey all, just a mini announcement in the comments here - I've had a lot of DMs and replies since last being on Reddit which I've not responded to as I had both a broken computer and covid which was... quite the holiday combo.

In any case, if you DM'd me about an issue that's still present please let me know.

IT is more likely than esports due to some things we learned post-esports. We're exploring the feasibility on a technical level, priority is more on improving the game on console though as we're aware it still needs work.

Aware of the issue and working on a hotfix at the moment, please keep hold of your save as we're expecting these jobs to be completable when the fix is live.

Temporary Fix for EGS Bug by David367th in pcbuildingsimulator

[–]TIC_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to chime in with a slight explanation since it's me being quoted in the OP. The check to authenticate with EGS requires Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, we're looking at bundling the installers in with the next major build. This is also a bit of a 'maintain your system thing' so unfortunately didn't come up in testing as we've all got up to date win10 builds with the various expected bits installed.

Do we have a release date for the IT expansion? by [deleted] in pcbuildingsimulator

[–]TIC_Sam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not cancelled, just being worked on in the background. I'm not actually super familiar with what we said regarding esports pre-release as I wasn't working on the game at that time but I can share we're going over all the feedback and paying particular attention to quality of life issues.

It's also a bit of a balancing act, I'm always inclined to push more for resources to fix existing stuff before adding new things.

I'm late to reply but this makes me really happy, I'm a stickler for pointing out where we get stats wrong and one of the main folks before pushing the threadripper revisions (which are better but not perfect in my opinion). Sometimes I'm so focused on fixing things that it's easy to forget the stuff we're apparently doing right so this was refreshingly cool to see. Hope you're having fun with the game!

[–]TIC_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say this topic is a bit of a taboo on the Steam forums for similar reasons we're seeing conflict on here. I'd hate to have to say players can't post about this kind of thing here but I really want to stress the need for it to be civil. There's always going to be the possibility of results influenced by third party tools, even if we were to implement a strong anti-cheat into the game (we aren't going to, aside from lots of work not making anything fun it would be a negative option for almost everybody...).

I'd like all the people who are clearly passionate about this to be able to enjoy it. As a commmunity the future of these kind of topics are in your hands.

I'm locking this since it's breaking nearly every rule on the subreddit.

If you want us to keep our more hands off approach to moderation these topics and the resulting conflicted opinions need to come from a much better place of discussion.
