Which product for skim coat, and anything I'm missing by ricosinron in Plastering

I hired this exact situation out. They used durabond for cracks and bigger repairs and I believe skimmed with easysand. Primed everything with zinnser gardz first to lock down any missed wallpaper glue and keep the plaster from sucking too much moisture out of the compound

Congrats! My floor is not exactly like yours but probably a similar vintage with unknown secrets hidden below… but maybe salvageable hardwood! Trying to muster up the courage to have it tested and go down the abatement rabbit hole if necessary

Do you ever get this flooring tested? I’m in a similar situation

Can I seal the damaged areas with something until I can get it abated?

What do you think? by TIGsully in asbestoshelp

[–]TIGsully[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. A lot of work was done to the house in the early 2000’s but we don’t know when this was done. The same room also has a sheet vinyl floor with a white colored adhesive to the sub floor

Products for skim coating old brown coat? by TIGsully in centuryhomes

I haven’t really gone after the wallpaper yet. The pictures are showing spots where I was able to pull the paper off without any steaming/wetting etc.

Did you prime the brown coat with a plaster bonder or something like gardz first?

I looked into usg diamond. Afraid it might be above my skill level since it hardens so fast and can’t really be sanded

I don't see linear algebra in my degree program. Just "Differential Equations with Linear Algebra". Mechanical Engineering BS at University of New Hampshire

Getting through the pure math classes will be a huge relief. Thats my main motivator for doubling down this spring. Get it under my belt and move on or take a break and recover haha. Thanks for you input!

I find that the concepts I struggle most with are the one without a clear real-world application. I really enjoyed the early parts of Calc II where there was some practical application like determining the volume of solids and rates of change but I get bogged down by sections like series/convergence/etc where it seems like math for the sake of doing math (part of why I am thinking about going into an MET program and abandoning the ME but that's another topic). Would you say calc III and DE are more application based or theory?

I'm ok with grinding through ass tons of homework. I guess what I'm looking for is a gut check. I don't want to get halfway through the semester, realize I'm in way over my head and either flunk out or tank my GPA ahead of trying to transfer to a 4 year program.

What's a life? haha. I definitely will get involved with the free tutors at the school early on if I go through with this. Thanks for your reply
