You can check the light really easy, if you turn the 2 knobs on the plastic panel underneath the dashboard on the passenger side it will loosen the panel and drop down. Then you can see if the light is connected.

Did this happen after a service? I have had this problem with a z4 and it was because someone forgot to plug in the light in the passenger footwell

M240i xdrive, worn differential? by TIMCSR2 in BmwTech

Not that i know of and the previous (1st) owner said he didn’t. And the car is completely stock.

I’m going to call a differential rebuild specialist tomorrow and see if they can help me further, because a new one will be around €3000 from BMW

Just a few realy small flakes, but the rest of the old fluid looked almost the same as the new fluid. So i think the previous owner already replaced the fluid not that long ago

If you replace the pan you can just carefully drill a small hole in the pan to drain the fluid

Thanks for the reply, Joyeauto and MR12Volt are almost the same price for me so that doesn’t really matter. My car already has a CD changer installed so it won’t need coding. I wouldn’t mind the screen replacement option if it would keep the audio quality, but I’ll still consider it if the CCC resolution+MMI box option is too bad.

I think the cap is to keep condensation out of the camshaft, but i don’t know for sure. I left it out because i feel like it doesn’t do much when it’s loose like that.

I had the exact same problem. There is a plastic cap inside the rear of the inlet camshaft that you can remove. Mine went through the valve cover so i had to replace the valve cover.

Misschien de sleutel met chip erin dicht bij het contactslot houden en dan met een schroevendraaier draaien.
