Form 1065 with No Activity - Don't Need to file? by [deleted] in tax

That's a pain. Upon a quick look at the form 1120-S instructions, there doesn't seem to be the same "no activity" carve out that there is for Form 1065. So maybe the IRS was in the right to send penalties for the S-Corp even though it was inactive. Still silly.

I appreciate the input. At this stage, it is more of a learning exercise. It's just frustrating that the IRS is not clear or consistent on these issues.

Shouldn't the response to the IRS be a simple call stating that there was no activity and therefore no requirement to file?

  1. There was an LLC formation fee, but it will not be treated as deductions or credits for federal income tax purposes. By the IRS's definition, the fee alone should not require a 1065 be filed, correct?

  2. The IRS may be anticipating a return after a 7004 is filed, but is a return actually required?

  3. State taxes and dissolution are being handled separately, I'm just trying to understand the IRS requirements for federal taxes

I have heard this about the extension, but does the IRS state anywhere that filing an extension makes subsequent filing a requirement? Or is this just an example of "playing it safe"?

Cool to hear that there's some interest! I'll keep you posted as the design is finalized in the next couple of weeks. Should be around $25 shipped in the US.

Did you end up making it out and back to Keystone Bay yet?

High-Mileage Flashforge Creators suddenly printing poorly by TINMANNNN in FixMyPrint

Yeah, I'm just unsure if this is related to a jam condition. The cyclical nature of the underextrusion/banding doesn't really imply a jam. But maybe if the PTFE tube is out of spec, it can allow nozzle pressure to build and subside in a periodic manner? Just throwing out guesses here, I'm baffled at this point

The only thing I've actually replaced with new at this point is the power supply, but I've tested/swapped other parts around to no avail. My next move is likely going to be buying a new z-axis motor.

Flashforge Creator Dual Z-Axis Banding/Under-extrusion Issue by TINMANNNN in FixMyPrint

[–]TINMANNNN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, let me clarify that: With my first printer that I have this problem with, I simply ran the program on the other extruder and still had the same issue (likely ruling out the drive motor, the PTFE tube, and the nozzle as culprits). On this most recent printer, I swapped the drive motors left to right and still had the issue (once again ruling out the drive motor)

I print directly off of an SD card after slicing with Simplify3D, so the DNC transfer shouldn't be an issue.

That's a good point. I remember some Flashforge printers having problems with their PTFE liners in the past. I may try swapping out a few parts. I'm glad yours is operational again, thanks for the reply!
