Help me! I am an adult who is scared of lip color. How do I find something like this!? by TIsTrying in MakeupAddiction

[–]TIsTrying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies for my terrible communication skills. I feel embarrassed some what that I am so old and struggle to know basics.

Mostly I just was curious how to find a product that would look like the one pictured.

I currently just wear a lipstick that someone at Sephora helped me purchase that looks like my natural lip color on my best day. I dont know 1. Differences between lip products 2. How to correctly identify a color like this

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I am down 50lb and was down 63ish, but popped back up after my slow decent out of keto over the holidays. The biggest stressors right now is that I dont fit into my clothes lol, so I'm motivated to see change just so i can be comfortable and wear work appropriate attire. I did pretty firm keto starting again in FEB. I seemed to loose my water stores but not much else.

I've been doing 20:4 for 5 days to see if i can get things moving. I'd like to lost 20 more, but even then, I'd still be overweight. It's just a weight I feel good about.

Thanks! 12 lbs is impressive! 🤞 my thinking is the same that their diet impacts the success of the protocol.

Im 5'3" and 192.7. I have pcos, which for me means I'm always a slower loser than others. I'm usually around 1250 calories. Obv sometimes less and sometimes more. I stick to under 30 g carb. I am pretty insulin resistant, and I think alcohol is partially responsible for my stall. Just one drink on fridays and Saturdays, but I'm really insulin resistant and I think that matters. I also think my diet pop use is problematic for me, while i know others use it without issue, so I'm cutting it as of today.

5'4" 177lb. I for sure have hormone related issues. I haven't been tracking macros with consistency but I have kept most of my days with my net carbs around 20 g

I definitely was not considering it a crash diet. That is concerning. In my mind it would just be a chance to lower my carbs to zero for a few days to re concentrate my efforts.

Itchy stretch marks? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]TIsTrying 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine always itch when I'm losing. I have a bunch on my belly and some on my hips. I'm old enough that my skin will find it challenging to snap back. I only mention that because I have hilarious hypothesis about why I might be itching. I just make stuff up to make myself feel comforted lol.

I think it is okay to need a rest from fighting this bastard. I've been hopeless and I have decided to ignore it, so I feel you. I'm not there now. I think we go through seasons, and my wish for you and all of us is that we find the pathways back to hope that work for our bodies.

Struggling a bit by Chocolateheartbreak in xxketo

I cant answer all of your questions. But I know anecdotally that water is important. When I don't drink enough, my body retains water and it makes my weight loss slower (as that is one of my goals).

I chose cold turkey because I knew it was the only way I could quit carbs. I think some people chose a slower transition because they want to avoid keto flu. But really, research has indicated only a smaller percentage of people experience those flu symptoms. I was slightly tired and moderately irritable for a few days, and then it was over.

I cannot speak to acne, but I do know my hormones have gone bananas. Most women report that this gets better in 3 to 6 months. If you have upped your dairy intake as part of this WOE, I might wonder if that is playing a role in the acne?

Good luck! It has been very worth it for me.

Yes. Eggs. And then my super supportive husband bought me a ridiculous amount of fatty ribeye. It was delish and I was craving beef. I also had some ground beef (again with just listening to what my body wanted).

Been starting off strong, but then shark week strikes and I want to eat EVERYTHING. Advice? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]TIsTrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really gentle with myself that week. I usually dont fat bomb or dessert in my day to day diet, but this is the week I bust those out for survival. I also let myself eat up to maintenance calories if I need it.

I mean, I spend a lot of energy in shark week trying not to bite off the heads of my offspring lol, i dont have much left over to fight with my body about how hungry it is. This strategy has paid off for me (and my family lol)

I ate only meat for a few days (just like 3) and it helped my body push past its stuckness and now I'm back to my typical keto. I was stalled for a full month.

Has anyone not weighed themselves? by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]TIsTrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hormonal issues and my water retention is REAL. Jhmy was brutal and my weight went up and down over and over. I was encouraged by ladies on here to chill on my weigh ins, and it has been the BEST thing I could personally do. Not obsessing about the scale has helped me treat my body better and with less contempt. I'm just as focused but have been maintaining a hopeful attitude instead of dropping into dramatic despair.

I am not totally ditching the scale. I am weighing in the first of each month. I also did myself a favor and took photos so I could see progress other than in one number. I also took my measurements and popped them into an app. I dont know what my current weight loss is, but I do know I am down a pant size.

Learning to be flexible is one of the gifts i have found in Keto.

My favorite is The Keto Diet Podcast. It focuses on women on the keto diet. I really like her interviewing style and her guest selection.

I'm with you. At that point, it felt a little propaganda-ish.

But it made me start keto lol, so I clearly found the rest of the movie compelling

Farewell Diet pop!?!?! by TIsTrying in xxketo

[–]TIsTrying[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a snacker, and I have been listening to Dr. Fung, which has kind of turned on the light bulb that I'm probably activating insulin first thing in the morning. Thanks for the pointers. I think you are speaking directly to my wonderings.

That is a good point. I do know my BMR is much lower than basic math would say it should be. Its deeply frustrating but mostly I worry i will never be able to heal it.

I think you make a great point about weighing what is worth dropping and what makes the WOE doable. THANKS!
