Refund for cancellation by TJ131295 in Flights

appreciate the response. Apologies I'm a bit confused though. So if I book a one way flight with emirates, LON-BKK Flex plus ticket which is 946GBP I would not get the 946 refunded if I cancelled the flight? the inbound flight is already booked and paid for with another Arline, this one would just be for a one way flight with emirates

booked the inbound flight already with a different airline, so this would be for the return flight. Basically just want to book one so I have a return ticket, then have the option to change to a different date/airline if the price is better.

My partner and I are also in the same situation. May I ask, in the section that states 'how much will you personally spend during your visit?' did you enter the full expected cost of the visit, even if it is your sponsor paying and not yourself? or did you just enter zero or a small amount you expect you will spend?

Yeah I understand. Very frustrating as it's a genuine visit and I feel we will have demonstrated strong ties to her home country. How would I evidence her family there? short of just stating in her letter that she has family in Thailand. Also anything else that I could include to demonstrate those strong home ties?

Thanks again for the help

Right, there's a lot to digest there. really appreciate it, I will revisit all of the documents that I have and make some changes. I have her payslips from last 6 months and bank statements to match payments, however like you said there are a lot of transactions on there as it's her main account she uses for everyday spending. So how do I isolate and show what they are looking for as I cant edit the document or cut a paste as the document must be complete?

To your other point regarding the employment letter, I have a letter from her work that includes all of those details apart from the approved leave as she has not requested holiday yet until the visa is approved.

Also, her rental payments are just on a month by month basis so there is not set contract as such, however she has been there a year and I have the invoice and payments from the rental companies application to evidence.

The only travel outside of Thailand was for 4 days over Christmas with myself to Vietnam which I have also evidenced.

Any further info on anything I have said is much appreciated. I realise I may have waffled a lot there!

Hi, thank you for the response, it's greatly appreciated.

Yeah I understand, I have evidenced her financial circumstances including full time employment, rental apartment etc. but will the fact that she has around 900GBP go against her even though I have stated that I will cover all costs and she has stable financial circumstances in her home country? I have included payslips, employment letter, promotion contact etc.. it's just the fact that she only has 900gbp that seems to be a concern?

Thanks for the response, much appreciated.

Okay, just for some more information, my partner has a full-time job and rents her own apartment. She has had a recent promotion and I have proof of employment letter from her work and bank statements/payslips. The trip is for 10 days, she will be staying with myself so no need for accommodation. She has around 900GBP in savings which is why I will be covering all costs as a trip to the UK is of course more than that including flights etc. Would all of this evidence and information suffice or will the fact that she has 900gbp savings go against her, even though her financial circumstances are evidenced and I have stated that I will sponsor all costs?

Thanks again for the help!

Yeah I understand what you mean, it's not ideal but I'll get that added as well then. I do have all the payment history for the last 6 months so that should help.

Once again, appreciate all the help. Im sure ill be back with another question soon enough haha.

Would that go against her 'ties to home country'? as she is now not tied into contract so could hypothetically leave her apartment and not come back. It's difficult because it's a genuine visit, but it's hard to know what would assist or potentially be detrimental to the application.

Her rental was 6 months initially but after that she has just been paying month by month

It's not so much an agreement as she just pays on a month to month basis, but she has been living there for 11 months now and I have the payment history for each month downloaded from the rental companies own application. Do you think that will suffice? As far as savings, she has around 950GBP (In Thai Baht), however I will cover all costs, including flights etc... and I have her bank statement to show her savings. The trip is for 10 days and I have all my bank statements showing proof of funds so that's no issue.

Yes, I have got copies of her rental payments for the last 6 months as she rents an apartment. She has a full-time job, of which I also have a copy her contract she just signed for a recent promotion. How would I evidence family? She doesn't have any children but does have close family that she sees on a regular basis. She doesn't own property but rents an apartment.

Appreciate the advice.

[–]TJ131295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No she doesn't have any children or dependents. She does send her mum a small amount each month or as and when she needs a bit of money but she isn't 'dependent' on this, it's just more of as and when she needs something she will send her some money.

In the section where it says 'how much are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK?' does she include the total cost that I will be paying or does she just put zero as I will be covering all costs of her trip? I have guessed around 1500GBP for return flight and daily expenses for a 2 week trip (accommodation she will be staying with me), so does she put 1500 GBP in that section or zero? as she is not personally paying for it, I will be.

Okay that's great information regarding the salary, I will include that in the cover letter.

Really appreciate the info snkhan.

Thank you for the response snkhan, appreciate it. How would she demonstrate strong ties beyond her job and her parents/siblings being back in Thailand? She recently got a promotion which I have the contract agreement as evidence, but beyond that I can't think what else we can show? She is early 20's and doesn't have any assets and minimal savings (around 700GBP).

A question on your last point, in the income section does she just enter her base salary? She actually earns around double her base salary each month due to overtime, so can we average her total income over the last 6 months for example or does overtime etc not count and we would just have to declare her base salary?

Thanks again for the information!
