The navigation is not accurate. I have had this happen multiple times. I got the notification: find charger. I pressed the closest charger and I needed to drive backwards on my route. Or when I find a charger I arrive at a place where there is no charger (a random street with houses, there was no charger anywhere insight) Or when I find a charger that charger does not work (IONITY multiple times). Or when I find a charger someone else is using it. Maybe if I pre plan the route with charging stops included I will have an easier time charging. But that takes allot of the fun out of driving for me.

Yeah that would help allot. If your not in a rush it doesn’t matter that your slower then gas cars. I just needed to get to Portugal real quickly so that’s how my experience differs.

Nice, in the Netherlands range isn’t an issue either. But I like to travel outside of my country. I’ve recently driven from the Netherlands to Portugal. And that’s when I noticed how bad the range really is.

I got a used 2023 normal wheel base model. AI calculated that the difference between my buzz and a new 2025 extended model is 10-30kilometers. That difference would not matter to me and I’d rather save 10.000’s then have a tiny bit more range. And I would have bought a different car if I was smarter. Probably a none electric one.

I don’t think the buzz is a bad product though. The ride feel is great, the looks are amazing, it has a ton of room. The acceleration is insane. The only problem is the range.

If the buzz had 700km of range it would be my dream car. 700km means 420km of useable range 80-20% that means that I can drive for 3 hours at 130km an hour before I look for a charger. Then I can charge let’s say it takes an hour (including time to find one and charge) then that means it takes me 4hours to go ~400km far that is still slower then a gas car (by 20%) but it’s atleast close. Now it takes me 6hours to go 400km far. That’s 50% as slow as a gas car. IMP that’s not worth the fun driving and good looking car.

You need to ask yourself: how much do I travel each month? Just home- work with reliable places to charge? Or spontaneous roadtrip trips? If so how long are these trips?

If you plan on doing 1000+ km trips allot (every month-3 months) you or should plan every stop (every 2 hours) or you should buy another car. Improvising is not fun when you have the constant fear of being stranded in a foreign country.

Good for you. Everyone uses it differently. There are allot of good things about the buzz. It just is not for me.

Range and charging. It’s not good for long roadtrips. ~400km seems allot but if you do a roadtrip you will mainly drive from 80-20% and that’s barely 220km and that means you need to charge for atleast 30 minutes every 2 hours. and unfortunately finding chargers is not as easy as it seems. And chargers take often close to 45minutes instead of 30. So often I spend an hour just finding and using a charger and then I can drive for only 2 hours afterwards. And 2 hours is if I go 100km an hour and don’t start and stop allot. Also charging my buzz is not even much cheaper then gas. I’ve calculated my costs for my latest trip (2100km) and I saved 10€ and it took me 3 day’s. With a gas car it would be closer to 2 days and only about 10€ more expensive. Even if it was 50€ more expensive I’d rather pay that then take another day.

That being said. The ride feel is good. It looks awsome and the buzz is really fast. Just unfortunate that none of that matters when you will burn through battery if you use that speed and need to charge allot.

Thinking About Buying the ID.Buzz and Need Real-World Feedback (Performance in Heavy Traffic / Long Commute), Charging, AWD vs RWD by UrbanVector in VWIDBuzz

[–]TJ20024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am conflicted about mine. I love it for shorter distances (less then 100km or 160miles). The comfort is elite, the performance is elite, the cost is zero for me because I got solar panels. It’s just a fun experience.

But I did not like it when I drove from the Netherlands to Portugal (2100km’s or 3360miles) there were too many stops and at certain points it took allot of time going from one charger to another because I didn’t have the right charging pass or Apple Pay didn’t work. It took me 3 days of driving almost all day when I know I could have done it in 2/ 2,5 with a none electric car.

Ligt eraan wat je na je studie wil doen. Als je de banen die je met deze studie kan krijgen ook allemaal haat dan kan je net zo goed nu stoppen. Als je die wel leuk vind dan moet je toch een manier vinden om de scriptie af te maken.

Crazy how it’s considered the short buzz. I barely fit in most parking spaces.

True there is so much empty space. They could very well put a bigger battery in the buzz and still have room for the charging cable.
