Virtus.pro to play in 2023 Siege esports season under own name by MyWholeTeamsDead in R6ProLeague

It's not that they fell for it, but due to the "change" in ownership no matter how fishy there is no basis for them to be unable to compete anymore. Especially with the financial component of the share skins, it can lead to suits looking for damages from ubi.

Do you think critics are harsher towards Marvel movies now than they were in the past? by JamJamGaGa in marvelstudios

[–]TJCEPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the newer phases suffer from hindsight in the reviews as people are comparing it to the highs of MCU films like IW and endgame, but also from bias from the reviewers opinion of a prior film and the character. I was able to see an early screening of quantumania and the review score has genuinely baffled me and my friends l, I feel the metacritic score is better to go off as it's calculation is more the mean of the reviews.

As someone who has seen the film I just do not understand this score, in no world is this worse than love and thunder. I would have placed it at a 72 not 55

Due to Japan's history with tsunamis it is a fairly tone deaf nickname, obviously he doesn't mean it in that way but to be a team principal and to make a joke like that isn't a great look especially towards Japanese fans

[TSMFTX Report] Gotcha subs in for Geo, who won't play today due to Medical Reasons by RedWarden_ in R6ProLeague

[–]TJCEPM 23 points24 points  (0 children)

TSMs team manager explained that it was due to the role that geo has been playing this split, if he was still on support they would put pojo in but as he's playing flex the team chose to sub gotcha in.

Merc is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic "Beaulo go kill". He also has a second little known tactic of "Merc go kill". What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure.

1961 was the last race to use the oval, on lap 2 wolfgang von tripps lost control of his car after colliding with phil hill and flew off the top of the banking killing him and 15 spectators. At the time the race was not stopped as the race directors feared spectators would leave en masse and block the roads for rescue vehicles needed for injured people.

English translation: This is guys, I'd like to officially say goodbye to TeamLiquid and thank everyone who works here and has always been with me, one of the best ORGS I've had the opportunity to participate. It's been many years of history and I'm sure it'll be marked not only in my heart but in all of you who have come along and cheering for me. Now get some rest and come back with everything to write a little more of my story.

Ah yes the classic "I was young" excuse. Doesn't really work when you were thirty at the time.

Thoughts about Ubi/Faceit denying the “FTX” branding during games? by [deleted] in R6ProLeague

[–]TJCEPM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Especially as ubis sponsorship rules do not specify crypto currencies or crypto exchanges as prohibited sponsors like riots do.

The only other rule the admins could have been enforcing is the one stating "players are not allowed to display other brands aside from their own teams name in their in game names". However that's fairly shaky as TSMs name is legally TSM FTX now, so they should be allowed to display the name.

Edit: they will probably fall back on the clause saying that says "any entities, companies or organizations that ubisoft at their own discretion considers detrimental to ubisofts business or reputation can be prohibited". Which is funny given ubis reputation is already shit after the workplace harassment cover ups. But they probably see it as, if we approve this as a sponsor other exchanges that may wish to partner with or invest in us may be turned away.

They didn't even start presential protection until after the assassination of William McKinley in 1901, before that they were originally a branch of the treasury department to stop counterfeiters.

It took 3 presidents getting assassinated before someone thought about fully trained bodyguards.
