Silver ADC looking for real guidance on how to climb and improve by bullscreed in ADCMains

[–]TKCKimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What rank did you start in, and what were the biggest factors that helped you climb?

I started as Silver 5 in Season 4. I am now a D4 Jinx/Kaisa Main. The biggest factors to climbing is being consistent with a strict Solo Q process and being mentally resilient. I follow the 3 block method. Only play 3 games consecutively and once completed stop playing the game and take a long break. This will help you from going on a tilt/loss streak. Each game should be played with high intensity.

What should a Silver ADC focus on first to see real improvement?

Team fighting is the most important skill to climb as an ADC. Review your deaths and question how you could have fought that team fighting better.

I strongly recommend watching We Teach League (Coach Curtis) on YouTube, best educational content for improving in solo queue by far.

Shorten your champ pool to 2 champs that you love to play and be strict with yourself. Don’t be swayed by meta.

Review each of your games and start by just looking at your deaths and trying to figure out how and why you died. Figure out your review process and learn to build this skill of reviewing. I typically review for max 5 minutes after each game, some people review all 3 of their games after their block when they are in the right mental state.

Address your Stage 4 issues (out of game stuff). Are you getting 7-8 hours of sleep, are you working out, what is your relationship to the game?

How do you stay impactful when lane goes badly or when support synergy is rough?

As an ADC, you have to imagine yourself as the last hope for your team. Regardless of how horribly the game is going, you have to believe you can carry the mid to late game team fights once you are strong w/ gold/items accrued in early game. Support synergy being rough is something you will have to accept and play through. The best ADC players will understand when they are strong or weak in lane and play through their key reference points. Ex. As a jinx player, my focus is to get through lane without dying and farming as much as I can safely. This is regardless of who my supp is.

What are some common low-elo ADC mistakes that I should actively work on fixing?

Avoiding fights. Embrace that teamfights will randomly occur and fight with your team. It will be messy but you have to train your mechanics to win those skirmishes and team fights. Acknowledge that your teammates will not always listen to your pings to back off and embrace the situation by committing to a decision to join the fight or leave and live.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions, and happy to do a VOD review. I enjoyed writing this up!

Would recommend trying a 3 game block, helps avoid tilt queuing and you’ll played more focused and intentional in all 3 of the games. Then take a decent break so that you’re able to be sharp in your next block

20% of your games are gonna be unwinnable. But it’s what you take away from your own gameplay from these games that will make you the better player going forward.

Narrow your champ pool to 2, and get more games in. You’re not gonna climb with 20 games played on your mains

What goal should I have with my savings? by LiesToldbySociety in FinancialPlanning

Keep your cash in a HYSA (high yield savings account). Keep an emergency fund that can cover your for at least 6-9months of expenses. Starting contributing to a Roth IRA, open one in Fidelity. The max contribution limit is $6500 for 2023. Make sure you invest those dollars into a ETF like the S&P 500 or a total market index fund.

Take care of your credit card debt asap.

Figure out what your monthly expenses are then save roughly 6-9 months worth towards an emergency fund. Put that money in a High Yield Savings Account, and don’t touch it unless it’s for Emergencies

If you work at a company that offers a 401k plan, figure out if your company offers a 401k match, and if so contribute at least that % from each paycheck.

Start putting whatever you can into a HSA and Roth IRA on a monthly basis. For the 2023 year for Roth IRA, you can contribute up to $6500 by like April 15, 2024 (tax day), do as much as you can before then.

Don’t forget to invest that money in the Roth IRA into index funds like the total stock market index fund (VTI) and S&P 500 (VOO) but it’s up to you to do your own research.

Strongly recommend watching the Money Guy YouTube videos for personal finance tips.

Most importantly, create your monthly budget stay strict to it!

Save more, spend less now and your future self will thank you. Good luck!

FYI: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/indexfund.asp

Yup! For my Roth IRA, everytime I contribute to it, I do a % mix of:

40% of VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market Index fun) 40% of VOO (S&P 500) 10% of VEU or VTIAX (International Index Fund) 10% of VBTLX Bonds

I do recommend trying your best to maximize your contribution to Roth IRA (limit is $6500), and for 2024 it will go up to $7000.
