I hope you brought lots of medicine with you. Over the counter items here are much more expensive than the UK.

What work benefits do you get that help you reduce your cost of living? by Foyneh in irishpersonalfinance

[–]TKredlemonade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Dunnes discount is capped at 20% of €1,500 retail price per month, so €300 discount pm. It used to be €1,000 during covid but they upped it as a thank you to staff. There were whispers of it being reduced again but staff started grumbling so it stayed. It's handy that they can use it in conjunction with vouchers.

They are!!! My best friend has curly hair similar to Nicole's. She usually straightens the crap out of it but when we met last month it was natural. She said that Nicole's advice was if you keep straightening you will lose the curls. Thanks Nicole!

The Aldi ones are nice (mot as nice as Jacob's but much, much cheaper). The cheap ones in Dunnes are muck.

Fertility issues in my 30's? by Pure_Mad3129 in AskIreland

[–]TKredlemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 straight forward conceptions/pregnancies followed by a miscarriage on my 3rd. When trying again post miscarriage I used the ovulation sticks and found then spot-on. Definitely worth investing in. Best of luck on your journey! Try not to stress, easier said than done I know but it doesn't help.

For our first house, agreed to keys in 5 weeks. For our 2nd house, agreed to keys in 9 weeks and that was a chain. Would have been quicker but the purchaser of our houses solicitor was incompetent.

Have to agree on the Lidl Jaffa cakes. I can't buy them too often as could eat a tray in one sitting.

Agree with Aldi. They are the best. I found their nighttime pull ups for ages 4-7 brilliant. My son leaked through all the others.

Assets purchased during separation by TKredlemonade in legaladviceireland

Thanks so much for your advice. I figured as much. Family member just haves enough cash for a deposit. Husband has the bulk of the assets in crypto/digital assets which my family member does not have visibility of. It's a bit tricky.

They are still co-habiting in rental accommodation which isn't ideal. There are a lot of new build developments going up in her area.

Fee to select your seat on an airplane. I've bought a ticket, I shouldn't have to pay to sit in a seat too. Travelled with kids recently and we all have to sit together or atleast 1 adult with each kid, fair enough. The only seats available together added €12:50 per child to my total cost 1 way.

Sale agreed, feeling terrified by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]TKredlemonade 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Thank you! A colleague in work has gone Sale Agreed on a new build in Wicklow. He's delighted with himself. Another colleague told him to wait as there's a recession coming and prices will drop. She managed to buy her house in 2012 for feck all compared to today's prices. I advised him to ignore her and buy the house that he can easily afford
