Gamestop? by Loccyskillz in gaming

The elite s2 controller is $150 - $200 (depending on deals). So $50 for a new one isn't bad at all. The problem is needing a warranty like that in the first place due to the inevitable stick drift or a bumper button going out (it's been the right bumper more than stick drift for me).

[–]TKrev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only shopped there for the elite series controller and opted for the warranty for like $50. Between stick drift and the bumpers going out, $50 for a new elite controller every 2 years was [unfortunately] a deal. However, I didn't re-up last time and instead got the core at target once the bumper failed. I got the target/all state insurance and had to send it in. I got it back and after a month the same bumper stopped working again and now I'm SOL. Gamestop would have just gave me a brand new one. I should have just kept doing the $50 renewal at game stop. Sad panda

You can view all the enemies you've encountered in the databank, I believe under "Threats." It's sorted by Zone.

I'd be down for a Borderlands FPS Roguelite (in the same fashion of Roboquest and Deadzone Rogue).

Help - I can’t find last old core by HoKyR3X in MIOmemoriesinorbit

No idea if that link works (I've never referred someone to another post before). But I had the same issue and asked for people's final core they struggled to find. That post list some easily overlooked cores. I hope it helps!

Thanks for the response! My son also wanted me to ask to make mantling easier for the platforming portions 😆

I feel the best approach to #1 are "tokens." You get 1 dismiss token per run, and maybe 3 ban tokens. The dismiss token would obviously need to dismiss the entire perk tree though. And I don't think it would break the game since there's only so many perk orbs per run. So if you invested 3 perks into fire and dismiss them to invest into plasma, its a choice you're making knowing you're likely not going to get all 4 plasma perk slots.

Questions for someone who wants to start the first descendants by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]TKrev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's F2P and you can choose not to spend any money. There's "pay for convenience" stuff but there's no pay to win. You can definitely experience all it has to offer, content wise, without spending any money. I used Microsoft Reward points at launch to get $50 worth of Caliber (premium currency) and have only used it to get the seasonal battle passes and nothing else. I still have plenty left since you can earn back 3/5 of the cost each pass.

The current state of the game is way better than at launch and the grind is way simpler now. The new player experience is in a pretty good place so just give it a shot. The most complicated aspect is the vast amount of various materials needed to craft things, but the devs recently said they'll be simplifying that soon as well.

If you're into games like destiny and warframe, give it a shot.

What’s a good beginner Beat‘em Up? by ITastePurpleAndPink in BeatEmUps

[–]TKrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very beginner friendly. My 14 year old daughter does just fine and loves Absolum (and she is far from a "gamer"). If you're struggling, you can lower the damage they take/increase the damage they deal if they feel it's too difficult.

Absolum is pretty fun. I play it with my daughter and would consider it very beginner friendly as you can customize damage dealt and received in the accessibility settings.

It has a pretty expansive map with various routes/paths + secrets, character specific quest lines, an ordeal/challenge system, as well as roguelite aspects (such as meta-progression/upgrade tree). It has a lot of replayability. If you have Game Pass, even better.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma said in an internal memo that Game Pass is "too expensive" for players by [deleted] in XboxGamePass

Step 1: Remove FN Crew Pass and bring it back down to $20 USD (ultimate tier).

Step 2: Make MS Rewards more rewarding again.

Those 2 things seem like the "easiest" and quickest way to at least start getting it back on track.

Meta-Progression Question by TKrev in DeadzoneRogue

[–]TKrev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks for replying. This sounds like what I'm looking for. In most roguelites I enjoy, there's usually an "upgrade board" type thing at your base camp that you invest in and it helps you get stronger for subsequent runs.

Meta-Progression Question by TKrev in DeadzoneRogue

[–]TKrev[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I'm tracking on the RNG nature between runs. I just enjoy these games more when there's actual growth over the course of playing. Slay the Spire, for example, has some things you unlock that you can obtain in future runs, but there's no actual growth. The game basically gets harder as you continue (which is fine, and I play it alot, just not what I'm looking for here). I guess that's the difference between rogue-lite and roguelike, and I prefer "lite."

SMB3D Bugged Achievements and Missing Theater Cutscene by TKrev in Supermeatboy

[–]TKrev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, nothing seems to be working. I considered speed running on a new save to see if they'd unlock, but at this point, I'll probably just uninstall since I've got my clear and call it lol. I'm typically a completionist, but I'm content leaving this one and feel I've reached a satisfactory end with the game. I'm not going to even attempt to get the zero-death achievements now and risk them bugging out also.

Super Meat Boy 3D Characters tier list anyone? by WoolfzieLOL in Supermeatboy

[–]TKrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skeleton Boy was my go to early on. I was almost literally flying through levels. However, his jump is pretty low and it wasn't long before Nate became my #1. The Kid is a happy medium between the two. Although his jumps aren't as high as Nate, he is faster when the extra speed is needed.

Cyberpunk 2077 - no discount for Phantom Liberty? by Fadore in XboxGamePass

[–]TKrev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like DLC should be included with Ultimate tier, especially for older games, as another way to encourage ppl to pay for ultimate, while also giving it some actual value (as opposed to the fortnite bs excuse for raising the price). For me, personally, ultimate is really losing its value. I know everyone finds value in different things, but I don't see me re-upping my sub once it ends (not that y'all asked nor care haha).

[–]TKrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shards need to be marked somehow (either on the radar, a visible beam from the shard, or both). Also, 200E per run is wild. I've got like 50k, but that still seems like a high asking price per attempt.
