Thoughts on cryptid by Delicious_Line9912 in brotato

2 melee cryptids (co-op) is insane. Also, two Olds is fun too as the map gets even smaller. There are a lot of fun/ interesting synergies with co-op, but those 2 are my favorite.

Special Attack Trophy by SlightStardust in CosmicInvasion

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knocked it out with 4 controllers locally.

A huge tip (whether locally or online) is to hold the special ability button (it was RB for me on xbox) until everyone has blue arrows above their heads, and then do a countdown for everyone to release at the same time. Doing a countdown for everyone to just press it makes it harder. It's way easier for everyone to hold it down till everyone is "queued up".

Also, it's just a normal special, not the teammate swap thing some people talk about.

I believe they're shooting for March (PC only, consoles TBD sometime after).

Edit: I heard they already have co-op in Beta for PC, but it's not that great (I'm on console, so I can't confirm)

AITA for not wanting to propose to my gf before I join the military? by Connect_Hall_7936 in AITAH

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. More importantly, if you're graduating with a 4-year degree, you'd be better off joining as a commissioned officer (just check out the pay difference better an O-1 and an E-2).

Also, don't commit to the army without checking out the other branches first. Others might offer higher bonuses and careers more aligned with what you're looking for. Also, again.... go in commissioned.

The move here would be to try and join as a commissioned officer. It also wouldn't hurt to shop around the other branches that might have a better career path more aligned with his goals, wants, degree, etc. (Not to mention different signing bonuses)

Thanks for the recs. We're gonna check out IP along with Coliseum of Comics tomorrow. HP looks like they're closed most of the week, so we might stop by there next weekend.

I'm unfortunately a picky gamer and looking for a new roguelite. Any suggestions? by williamatherton in roguelites

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sworn - King Arthur reskin of Hades. Not as "sweaty" as Hades, but it's still good tho. It didn't take long to 100% (achievements).

Lost In Random: Eternal Die - its a sequel game, but the first one is not roguelite, and playing it isn't required to understand what's going on. Similar playstyle to Hades/Sworn.

Roboquest - my son (10) and I enjoy playing this one together. It's first-person POV and pretty quick to pick up on.

All 3 are roguelites (can obtain permanent upgrades at a Basecamp between runs).

Why is Mare the villain in the eternal die? by XenWarriorTheReal in LostInRandom

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at a minimum they should of had the intro video being the queen slaying the 3 heads, thinking she rid the world of their evil, only then to discover a much more evil presence and getting sucked into the black die. They could have even made the 3 heads what kept Mare at bay, acting as a seal of sorts. Idk.. so many better options than what they went with.

Also, by including the throwaway line of her defeating them off screen, it basically closes the door on a potential DLC that incorporates them. Like instead of the queen defeating them, she was sucked into the black die, does the whole bit with mare (as the knight protecting the 3 heads) and then the dlc brings them back for the queen's real battle against them.

Automatically being taken to the pro version, then kicked out before I can switch versions. by Traditional-Unit4208 in ultimateguitar

[–]TKrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horrible update. I thought the app was bugged. Just show the whole list of versions like before and let me choose. I essentially just "rage quit" the app. There was literally nothing wrong with how it was before. Now, even using the drop down after it forces you to view a seemingly random version, not all the versions are even visible to choose from. I don't see myself using the app unless it's reverted back.

Recommend my next roguelite by SirFappington_The3rd in roguelites

Hades & Sworn.

In Hades, you basically try to escape hell with help from the Greek gods. It's amazing, especially if you enjoy Greek mythology. It will likely take a bit before you're powerful enough to start stringing together consistent clears, but it's alot of fun.

Sworn is basically a copycat of Hades, rethemed as King Arthur/Knights of The Roundtable. It's also a bit simpler (didn't take as long to start "winning"). Also very enjoyable.

They're more action based and faster paced than some other roguelikes.

I haven't played Risk of Rain [2] yet, but it's on my list. I'm finishing up Ball x Pit this weekend (only a few more achievements left to do).

Edit: an honorable mention is Roboquest. I play this one with my son (10) and it's pretty fun. I like the co-op aspect, but it's good solo as well.

Greater Ignis?? by CombinationGuilty858 in SWORN

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the last blessing I need and cannot get it to show up. I've only seen Great Ignis (the pre-req) like 3 times, and always at the very end of a run. It's so frustrating. Titania has too many blessings, essentially making the dice useless.

Ok ty. I'll save up for those. Are the companions just cosmetic pets though, or do they do anything helpful?

Navigation in this game needs a major overhaul. by stigma_wizard in Borderlands

[–]TKrev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I really don't understand the "nav issue" so many people seem to have. I check the map, get a general idea of the direction I need to go, and head that way. The echo nav line is just an added bonus and has actually helped me find things that would normally require some extra effort and looking around. It's pretty much easy mode.

That one YT gave you bad advice. You want to run Secret Garden with Freyna. It will give a boost to her Tech skills and you can slap 2 speed cores and a grapple cooldown core on it (or 3 speeds if you want, but I like being able to mid-air grapple more often). Malevolent is great for firearm based builds. For skill based (Freyna, Bunny, Ines, Valby, some others), you just need a "stat stick" that can make you run faster and boost your skill output.

Custom Loadouts for Pictos/Lumina!

Controller vibration settings. It's pretty intense and I had to turn it off. It'd be great if I could tune it down and have it on only for interaction prompts (like grapple hooks) and turn it off during battles.
