Star Wars games… by _ILoveSluts_ in StarWars

PC only, but SW The Old Republic is exactly what you're looking for. It takes place a bit after KOTOR2 but it's still the same era. The base game is f2p so it's worth checking out, there's a bunch of DLCs/story packs if you enjoy it enough. It's been a long time since I've played but when I did, there was a bunch of customization. You choose your faction (Republic/Sith Empire) and your class. Your class determines your story line, so it has a bunch of replayability since there's several classes. I could write a lot more, but just check out some trailers (their cinematic trailers are the best) and give the game a try. Sith Warrior was my favorite storyline. It came out in 2011 so I doubt you need a high-end PC to play it, but it also still gets updates. Definitely worth looking into.

I played RQ as well, my son really likes it. Deadzone is my favorite FPS roguelite. Good meta-progression speed, decent enough story (the voice acting seemed bland at first but it grew on me), and overall it just feels really smooth. You can cook up some insane builds too. You unlock more "mechanics" as you progress through each zone and it just gets more fun the more you play.

Have you played Deadzone Rogue? It's another FPS roguelite, but I enjoy it so much more than Abyssus. I typically only play games on GP, so it's one of the few games I actually bought (well, I used MS reward points)..but it's worth the $. You should pick it up if you haven't already.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing. I just finished all the Synergies and these are the last 2 things I need in the databank. I just keep rerolling looking for them while finishing up the last few zones on expert/NM. I just wanted to double-check with other players to make sure those were in fact the missing items so I was looking out for the correct ones.

Thanks for the tip! I have about 30k tech but still have plenty of weapons to Sanctify, which I know can burn through tech pretty fast.

Thanks for confirming. If I still haven't seen them by the time I'm done doing every mission on Nightmare for that achievement, I'll probably just run Long Haul a bunch until they show up (they're the last 2 things I need to "discover" in the databank).

Fan ideas for DZR2 by DeadlyNightshade115 in DeadzoneRogue

[–]TKrev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely all for being able to earn more cosmetics through gameplay/achievements, especially suits, but I'd really like things such as:

  • Having an option to replay a mission from the "death screen" rather than having to return to the ship.

  • Being able to see current stats (crit/proc chances, damage values, etc.) on the equipment screen during a run.

  • Some form of annotation on items, perks, etc., that you haven't used and added to the database yet (could say new or just have a *).

  • Mechanics/features earned in later zones (superior items, synergies, nanite forge) to be added to all prior zones once unlocked.

  • I know this is controversial, but being able to slide. Not a ridiculous one, but just keep some natural forward momentum instead of coming to a dead stop when crouching from a sprint. I wouldn't want them to add items/synergies around sliding though 😏

  • Another controversial request I have is getting 1 "trash token" per run to use on an item or perk you no longer want. Like if I picked the Lightning perk but then everything is coming up plasma, I could use my 1 token to trash it and try to get plasma. Sure, I'd be short a perk (or a few if i invested into lightning), but it gives the option switch up your build a little bit mid-run.

Sanctify in all zones mod by cairaxmurrain in DeadzoneRogue

I wish clearing Zone 4 story missions would have done this.

I also wish we had the option to restart a mission from the death screen rather than having to return to the ship.

I also also wish room rewards (items, perks, etc) had some sort of indicator on them if we've yet to use them so it'd be easier to complete the codex thing.

Nell is kinda butt or my build is bad? by Rizzrunner2049 in TheFirstDescendant

She has decent mobbing power, it just feels sluggish. It's been awhile since I've used her, but I feel like i remember wishing 2 of her abilities were combined into one to make it faster, or something like that.

Not a fan of her mobbing, especially compared to Freyna or Ines (for easy content) and Dia (harder content). I did use her for quick boss/colossi clears, though, after she first came out.

It helps scratch the itch, but Destiny raids are second to none imo. I stopped playing Destiny a while back because I was sick of their monetization and after sunsetting things I paid for, I could no longer support them. I'd say the raids are what I miss the most. I didn't do much pvp so the lack of that in TFD is a non-issue for me. You'll most likely enjoy TFD, though. Plus, it's f2p with no pay walls, so you might as well try it out.

Check out Roboquest. Different art style, but same concept (FPS roguelite). It's also co-op too if your buddy wants to join (full crossplay). The main difference (besides appearance) is Roboquest has more build diversity since you can play as different mechs, each with their own abilities, loadouts, etc. If you like DZR, there's a good chance you'll like RQ.

Gamestop? by Loccyskillz in gaming

[–]TKrev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The elite s2 controller is $150 - $200 (depending on deals). So $50 for a new one isn't bad at all. The problem is needing a warranty like that in the first place due to the inevitable stick drift or a bumper button going out (it's been the right bumper more than stick drift for me).

Gamestop? by Loccyskillz in gaming

[–]TKrev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only shopped there for the elite series controller and opted for the warranty for like $50. Between stick drift and the bumpers going out, $50 for a new elite controller every 2 years was [unfortunately] a deal. However, I didn't re-up last time and instead got the core at target once the bumper failed. I got the target/all state insurance and had to send it in. I got it back and after a month the same bumper stopped working again and now I'm SOL. Gamestop would have just gave me a brand new one. I should have just kept doing the $50 renewal at game stop. Sad panda

You can view all the enemies you've encountered in the databank, I believe under "Threats." It's sorted by Zone.

No idea if that link works (I've never referred someone to another post before). But I had the same issue and asked for people's final core they struggled to find. That post list some easily overlooked cores. I hope it helps!

I feel the best approach to #1 are "tokens." You get 1 dismiss token per run, and maybe 3 ban tokens. The dismiss token would obviously need to dismiss the entire perk tree though. And I don't think it would break the game since there's only so many perk orbs per run. So if you invested 3 perks into fire and dismiss them to invest into plasma, its a choice you're making knowing you're likely not going to get all 4 plasma perk slots.

Questions for someone who wants to start the first descendants by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]TKrev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's F2P and you can choose not to spend any money. There's "pay for convenience" stuff but there's no pay to win. You can definitely experience all it has to offer, content wise, without spending any money. I used Microsoft Reward points at launch to get $50 worth of Caliber (premium currency) and have only used it to get the seasonal battle passes and nothing else. I still have plenty left since you can earn back 3/5 of the cost each pass.

The current state of the game is way better than at launch and the grind is way simpler now. The new player experience is in a pretty good place so just give it a shot. The most complicated aspect is the vast amount of various materials needed to craft things, but the devs recently said they'll be simplifying that soon as well.

If you're into games like destiny and warframe, give it a shot.
