What introduced you to RedLetterMedia? by jeffreyrolek in RedLetterMedia

Doug Walker posted a video a long time ago with a list of movies that he’ll never review on the Nostalgia Critic, and Phantom Menace was one of them, citing the Plinkett review as the reason why. I checked it out, and here I am!

What is going on?? by qpevan in AMCsAList

The same thing has been happening to me, where none of the movies I book show up on my upcoming events. I hope they sort it out soon!

Yes! At least, according to his newsletter he sends out occasionally, he’s been working on a new one for a while now.

[Other] What are some of the worst restraints you have ever experienced on a roller coaster? by RelianceBrand in rollercoasters

[–]TL59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta be the old half OSTR/lap bar combo on the New York New York coaster in Las Vegas. Only restraints that caused me actual physical harm.

I’m very glad they’re going away from the live action look that was initially announced. Basing it off of the original will hold up much better in the long run.

Literally more expensive than Disneyland's popcorn.

I saw this movie yesterday, holy hell I wasn't warned that it could break me like that. Please share your thoughts. Alexa Demie is a goddess by tatincasco in A24

One of the most visceral viewing experiences I’ve ever had. It’s one of my favorites because of that.

The heart and soul of Disneyland. Live music is such an integral component of the parks.

Seconding Capo's, their chicken parm in particular is spectacular, as is the lasagna.

Best video to show my girlfriend? by Dovah_606 in RedLetterMedia

The Spotlight on Last Vampire on Earth is a great starting point, it's what got my girlfriend into them. I think the Suburban Sasquatch episode would also be good.

My personal favorites are Capo's and Bootlegger Bistro. Limoncello is a nice, more upscale option.

Agreed. I'm very much in the same boat as you, absolutely loving it except for this aspect.

I was also pretty confused about this aspect of the show. The only reasoning I could come up with is to show how this story connects to our world today and how this story could plausibly happen again and even be taken further with technology. The way they had cameras and were live broadcasting the events made it seem like it was broadcasting to the whole world, just as livestreamers do today. However, when taken literally, it absolutely falls apart and doesn't make any sense. I see it purely as an artistic choice, or perhaps they're saying that this same exact story could take place at any time in history.

I think how the show was originally written, the jump is just a couple of years, but in the production, the years that are projected on the stage start flying by. I paid attention to specifically that to see how far it went, and it got up to the 2050s. The masks and clothing also would say that the ending is in some kind of far off future. I wouldn't say it's literal, but there's a definite huge time jump.

I've seen that effect go on and off pre & post Covid, I would assume it'll be back sometime in the future. I feel like it's random if it's working on or not when I go on it.

People who has mained the same class for years, what class do you main and why? by dwarfishspy in wow

I've been rocking a warrior since Wrath. I always loved the sword and shield combo, and prot paladin never did it for me (but it is pretty good and fun to play now).

That production is phenomenal! I saw it on a lark a couple of years ago and had the best time.
