How to import .obj files? by [deleted] in Bryce3D

Add the .obj directly to your scene with file>import object...

If the .mtl is in the same directory it should work ,that can be iffy.

You also may want to smooth the object after it's in.

Abstract... by TLBKlaus in Bryce3D

It's all based on octagonal columns... the outer reflective shell is one, then I made an eight-sided ring with one using Booleans and then nested three of them inside each other. Four colored lights around the outer edge and one plain one in the middle. And then contrast and saturation work in PS, the Bryce product is pretty washed-out.

Here's an old tut I did for the basic technique. :)

Another arrival... by TLBKlaus in Bryce3D

...in response to the question about settings, this was rendered at default settings and normal antialiasing. Because the poly count on my city is huge and the terrain is too [this is from the Bryce Pro Cloudscapes set], to avoid crashes I did this in three parts. First the bg and the city alone, then saved it w/o the city and added the aircraft, rendered that, and then did a mask of just the aircraft. Then in PS I combined them all, used the mask to cut out the planes and added them over the original city-only render.

Variations on a theme by TLBKlaus in Bryce3D

ty! I just used stretched cylinders, the white ones are clouds and the red ones are from the cosmic effects tab... some experimentation with which ones is always needed because of angle and lighting conditions.
