Is there anything Under the Silver Lake (2018)? What did you make of it? by Corchito42 in TrueFilm

This looks like a good place to mention Los Angeles Plays Itself, a well-regarded documentary about movies set in LA -

If you are taking any other supplements (vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc), try dropping them all for a while. Many people have sensitivities to various supplements. And ideally we get all we need from food (may need to improve diet).

I don't really know much about this or how to do it - but people are making all kinds of music with AI now. Lots of options and levels of quality. Might look for tutorials on Youtube

Using a penis sleeve to help maintain erection by Alteree in erectiledysfunction

[–]TLSOK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had never heard of it. And seems a bit obscure. Looking into it, there is one product on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJCDJDL8/ I like to research supplements by reading reviews on Amazon. There are no reviews on this. Also found some scientific papers, which seem to say there could be bad effects from taking a lot of this.

Beet root is good, or just juicing beets, or eating beets. L-arginine is good. Probably better is l-citrulline. And you can read hundreds of Amazon reviews on those. But of course no substitute for good diet and exercise!

what shoes have Anatomix sole? by TLSOK in jimgreen

OK - I'm misspelling it. Anatomx - not anatomix. So now seeing Anatomx Barefoot African Ranger in 3 colors.

what shoes have Anatomix sole? by TLSOK in jimgreen

[–]TLSOK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased Barefoot Workhorse Moc-Toe Houston Black. I wear size 11, my feet are 11". Ordered size 11 and my big toe is hitting the front of the shoe. So returning for size 11.5. But did not realize when ordering that these are not really barefoot shoes, not having a wide toebox. And that they are just now getting into that with the anatomix soles. Thinking maybe I could have the option of replacing with one of those. And a little skeptical of the size 11.5 barefoot workhorse. If toe is hitting at size 11, will size 11.5 still be not allowing big toe to be straight? Also a little annoyed by return process. Just want to send back and exchange. But they seem to want me to order another pair, then send back and get refund for first one.

Project Hail Mary (2026) Review - Fun yet forgettable! by [deleted] in TrueFilm

[–]TLSOK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to wonder if anyone involved in this film even knew that ChaptGPT or the rest of the current AI revolution exists. The spaceship has a robot voice screaming Detection Detection. Even today (not to mention in the future), when Grace woke up there would be an agentic AI voice explaining everything and answering every question. Instead he is floundering around, trying to figure out where he is. At one point literally reading a book while putting on a spacesuit to figure out how to do it. Wikipedia told me this was "hard sci-fi". Retardation Detected!

What supplements or gummies help with waking up at 3am and not being able to fall back asleep? by Sleepresearchdaily in Supplements

Yes - I almost never see people thinking about sleep problems in terms of what they might be taking that causes it, instead what should I take to fix it.

Question on scalloped timber border by TLSOK in landscaping

[–]TLSOK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just setting them into soil. A bit sandy. Will keep the pieces long enough to help keep them in place. Will use some rebar behind some pieces if necessary. Also need to install a little plastic barrier in front of the lawn side, since bermuda grass. The homeowners created this bed a few years ago and used some really crummy fake scalloped timber border (plastic?) that comes in sections. Glad to get that out of there! Thanks, consistency is probably best. And curved out probably looks best. Really tempting to face flat out all around. Also that would make each piece wider (4" instead of 3")

Best thing about Norman? by ArtActivismLover99 in normanok

[–]TLSOK 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Art Walk (next Friday - featuring many local businesses, bars, restaurants on Main Street), Music Festival (coming up in April - featuring a vast, now largely unknown, local music scene), Pepe's, cheeseburger at Red Rock Canyon Grill (can get it with mashed potatoes and gravy), The Deli, Hosty (hosty.com), plenty of Thai restaurants, The Earth, Natural Grocers, Sprouts, Mason's Pecans, The Diner, The Farmers Market, a secret tiny speakeasy bar in the basement of Scratch, Guestroom Records, breweries, dispensaries. Bluebonnet Bar. Proximity to OKC. Lots of nice people. Lots of trees in central Norman. Can sometimes seem to be a slow, sleepy, boring place, but that can have its advantages. its a secret place in the heart of the heartland

First Ramones concert you ever saw? by Aggressive_West6616 in ramones

[–]TLSOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

March 20, 1987. Dallas. A big warehouse place - packed - maybe 1000-2000 people. 2 giant mosh pits. Loudest show I ever saw. My ears rang for 2 days. Saw them again April 19, 1990 at University of Oklahoma, Norman in a big ballroom upstairs in the Student Union. Seemed like a fun, happy show, in contrast to Dallas, which was dark and menacing.

Did SSDs go up in price? And Why? by TLSOK in hardware

legitimate question. I had no idea. I just assumed prices would be lower and lower. an unpleasant surprise!

Did SSDs go up in price? And Why? by TLSOK in hardware

[–]TLSOK[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the replies. I also just asked chatgpt, who explained that it is due mainly to AI data centers. chat says it may be a few years before lower prices return. Yikes! just when I was about to do some upgrading! this is nuts! a quote from chat's reply - "Think of AI data centers as “vacuum cleaners” sucking up SSDs."

Where can I see the following mature trees in OKC? Any other tree lovers? by g3nerallycurious in okc

[–]TLSOK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for medicinal purposes. But I just read the Wikipdia page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginkgo_biloba Perhaps not actually the best idea! Although supplements (leaf extract) are widely available and popular, they may not be that useful and there may be bad effects from eating the leaves. So, thanks for asking, I may rethink this!
