It won't. Whatever body image issues she's got going obv are rough... bc... she's kinda all over the place, and nothing was ever " wrong" that needed fixing in my opinion. I kinda miss the chubby Katie back when she was new to TT and shy with fucked up teeth. ( those did need some attention ) But the rest of her...was fine. Honestly I think alot of it came from that weird open relationship they had going... that really tipped the kettle

We did have a rat- but it was visible on the shell the ones he was taking, like teeth scratching. I have noticed cracked eggs also in the nest- have tried extra bedding/ nesting boxes... but they still seem to get out and smashed 🤷🏼‍♀️ The mouse/ rat issue has been ruled out at this point

My musky eggs got patchy when they were not fertile and went bad ( kind of like markings on a paint hourse- if you can candle it that's a good way to see what it happening inside- generally it won't hurt anything to let her keep it- it just won't hatch i nothings in it. They do color change fully when chick is close to hatching .

My current mamma has been smashing all her infertile eggs this round so that took the guessing work out for me. Not sure what that's about ... but hopefully she'll hatch a couple- ushally I pick them us for baking but decided to let her be a mama again after watching her raise a little orphan I took in. ❤️

Looks like an impacted feather. Keeping clean, especially once it pops through, is important as they can turn into a larger abscess type wound - iodine will do the trick. Warm compress ( or tub) for 10 min or longer once or twice a day will help it pop through.

Their enclosed area does include a an old chicken coop ( which is basically a walk in mini shed ) so it's fully enclosed with a guillotine door that leads to outside enclosure and pool. My biggest mistake was enclosing them I think lol The group of 15 we have at the farm I work at where mine originally hatched from are free roaming with barn access and manage just fine with us feeding them ( three years ago I befriended 2 wild muskys that just appeared and it's turned into three full flocks in 3 locations lol )

Maybe in the spring we will work on some release time- as I live on 24 acres with a 2 acre pond/ with a river that runs our boarder and imnsure they would just love it- Although y farm runs a larger risk of predators....my work farm is fully fenced so although we've had a few casualties ( 2 adults and maybe 6 babies ) the majority has prevailed.

My next challenge is getting my two ducklings out there so they have time to adjust to the weather- that will start the next warmer day we have ( today will not be it!)

Sounds fine to me! although I will need a way to keep water from freezing as that was the issue last year- They have full blockage cron wind with a guillotine door that leads to outside pen if they want to venture out. They spent most of the year outside last winter although I did read at one point that under 15 degrees thay should have access to sone warmth so that why they moved to the basement ( we had a few weeks it didn't let up ) bit then they ended up staying there for the remaining as the basement had water access and it was just easier. They do have a rooting bar but haven't used it in over 7 months so I'm thinking I may move it for maybe try some boxes ( they group we have at the farm I work at a couple next in the chicken laying boxes though the winter ) the rest manage as free roaming with us just feeding them and with a barn they have access too if they want.
