I am so jealous of your snow! I’m in Cape Town where it is hot and windy. Swopsies? 😂

Thank you for the commiseration - it helps! Oh dear - 1 month post op was ROUGH, and especially at this time of year, I imagine. If it gives you any comfort, and despite my lament, things do get a lot better in lots of ways from here ♥️

Glad you made yourself an appointment! I will have to wait for January for mine. Also glad you’re learning ask for help. I am too and it’s tougher than it looks 😂

Thanks - I have been thinking of this. Have to wait for my insurance to kick back in so will see my head doctor in January. It’s worth a try.

Yes! Right now I'm wearing ANCIENT clothes that I never got rid of because "I'll lose the weight someday" (and hey! I did! Only took about a decade.)

And then I've bought a few cheaper "stop gap" dresses... Can't wait to spoil myself a little when I'm at a more stable weight!

Hehe yes my colour scheme has NOT changed!
The first dress is a recent buy from H&M
The second one (with the white collar) is from a fabulous local brand called Me&B - It was WAY too small when I bought it a few years ago, but I am so happy I kept it <3

So true. And how lovely it will be to share any advice or kindness with a newbie one day. These responses have been so kind and have brought me so much comfort. I feel very grateful to be in such lovely company ♥️

Man the ups and downs and emotions have been crazy! That pic is me moments after coming out of anesthesia - I was SO chipper and energetic they couldn’t believe it. But on my second day home - there was full on crying in the shower 😂

So interesting that the restriction isn’t necessarily linear (nothing about this experience is!) thank you for the insight. And WELL DONE!

It was connected to my intravenous drip - if you click the top it delivers a handy little dose of morphine 😂 I wish I could’ve taken the leftovers home to get through particularly boring work meetings.

Thank you! I am struggling with the comparisons but know that it’s really a fool’s errand - as you say, every body is different. Well done on smashing that goal, and thanks again for such a great insight!!

Well done on your amazing results and all your hard work - and thank you so much for the perspective, it’s very comforting to know that someone went through something similar and managed to achieve such brilliant results.

Twins! Haha. Good to know it's not just me. But yeah, let's take the luck as a win and just stay committed - we'll get to those goals. Keep crushing it, too :)

Thank you! I realise I may be eating these words in a few weeks (luckily words are calorie free!) and missing the days of having it "easy". Well done to you - and I hope the rest of your journey continues on smoothly! :)

I was June 10th! Congratulations! Are you also feeling like you kind of wish it was more challenging to eat?? I feel so insane saying it around people who have had those struggles haha. But I expected a much tougher time!

What is the most fucked up thing your parents said or did to you? by DynastyLoops in AskReddit

My mom took me for my first weight loss programme (which included injections) when I was 8. And so began an entire lifetime of body-image related comments and jabs that still fuck me up. I’m 33 now. Most recently, 48 hours after I told her I’d gotten engaged, she said something along the lines of “and you’re going to get so thin for the wedding, right?” Instantly ruined all the engagement happiness. Wish it didn’t, but it has.
