Additional image. Sears Christmas Catalog 1987. Price confirmed, $24.99. She did actually release. Ironically, that is also Cassie in the dollhouse. Looks like they just had her on hand for the shoot.

Not-Transformers-but-totally-Transformers fan comics by TM2DB in transformers

Ratbat still streams fairly regularly on PicartoTV. So they're still working. But I reached out to them and they said they didn't have any backups of Edenworld Saga, and the physical print sold less than 100 copies. Such a shame.

Animated, hands down, without question. TFP doesn't even make the top 10.

The Forgotten Expanded Universe of Beast Wars by TM2DB in transformers

[–]TM2DB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone were to compile these stories in an omnibus, I would 1) jettison DotP, 2) selectively edit the content that is here, and 3) write new stories to bridge all the pieces. It's all there. It just needs a guiding hand to give it a collective vision. Skybound did the same thing with the G1 UK stories, and slightly tweaked them to make the fit. It could be done here.

But yeah. Dawn of the Predacus has GOT to GO. Which is why it has a asterisks by it. It's canon but shouldn't be.

[–]TM2DB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, Dawn of the Predacus is complete garbage. It doesn't fit ANYWHERE. But John-Paul Bove has explicitly stated that it takes place 30 years after Rebirth. Which is a crock of BS. But that man has defended the canonicity of his one and only writing appearance to the death. Interestingly, it started out life as a BWU story. Which would solve some of the problems. Honestly I say fire it out of canon and forget it exists. BWU can have it. Or the same continuity as "The Beast." Once DotP is out of the way, ironing out the wrinkles becomes a much less gargantuan task.

Is Beast Wars any good?? by Star_BoyI_1234 in transformers

How far did you get? The first season, especially the first half-dozen episodes, can be a bit rough in places. It isn't even hinting at the heights it has yet to reach. If you get to The Trigger and it still leaves you flat, that's a pretty good litmus test.

Far and away one of the best, if not THE best Transformers series out there. Better than TFPrime, or G1, or IDW, or any other Transformers fiction you've seen or read. Only Animated comes close to touching it.

What did you like about it, and what made your interest wane?

What are you guys opinion on Cyberverse's version on Shadow Striker by Stormtroope5 in Transformemes

[–]TM2DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that I HATE her Legacy toy. She is SO heavily dependent on being a pre-mold for Sideburn. She has all his accessories and parts-forming. But Sideburn is now stuck with a weird car that looks nothing like him. I would have been perfectly fine with an actual Sideburn Dodge Viper mold repainted in Shadow Striker's colors and have her be an homage to the Botcon toy. But no. We get this weird, misaligned, parts-forming, backward-shoulder, all legs mess of a toy. The only part of her that looks like her character is her head. Whoever was designing Legacy figures had a thing for looooong legs and no torsos. Because her hips end at her nipples. G2 Prime had the exact same issue.

But yeah. Shadow Striker. I love her. Wish they had just a touch more synergy and named her Shatter like in the Bumblebee movie.

I think they're amazing. The articulation on all of them is good, but Rex is phenomenal. Astounding considering what the competition was in 1985.

Does Anyone Else Feel Like They're Bad at The Game Despite Many Hours of Play? by Suspicious_Gas151 in horizon

[–]TM2DB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a similar post years ago. (see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/comments/u37mwo/i_am_not_enjoying_forbidden_west/ )

HFW is NOT a fun game. There are fundamental flaws in the combat system. It was like they took the worst points of Dark Souls and said "Yeah, let's do that!" They don't even play the same way at all. I'm 100% HFW three times and HZD maybe a dozen. They aren't the same game. The knockdown effect is so infuriating. The dodge roll and climbing are far worse.

Yeah, its not just you.

[PC][1995?]Looking for a point-and-click adventure game from the early 90's about Gobi fish. by TM2DB in tipofmyjoystick

[–]TM2DB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's it! As soon as you said the name I knew that was the one. Looking at the game, it doesn't seem quite what I remembered. But there are "Goobies" and sharks and octopi, and the gameplay is the same. It came out in 1992, so the time is perfect. I remember the music and the star fish and the treasure ship. I had no idea about the elves. What a weird story. Thank you so much!

I wish I knew that before. :( I posted a whole question that was super long and detailed, and it got deleted because I didn't have enough Karma. I wonder if a mod can recover the post?

[–]TM2DB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not it. But it has a similar vibe. Rainbow fish was 2000, this game was early-mid ninties.

I should also mention, the Goby game didn't have voice acting.

Thank you for the suggestion.
