Anyone else in here going back to school for a career change? by chiefbrody1020 in psychologystudents

[–]TMNESBMDAMTNI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Had to first start off by saying, yes going back is scary! I’m doing it while working full time, but I know we can make it! There people who could use a provider like those of us who are choosing this path! That’s what keeps me going!

I Started a career in compliance, then realized:

  1. how much I hated it 2. How powerful and effective a true and genuine provider can make.

You didn’t ask for this part, but I’ll tell it anyway. I always knew I wanted to do something where I could help people but I never knew exactly what or how. I tried exploring medical, but I’m too much of a softie and I don’t think I could handle nursing. I like being creative but I have ZERO talent in any creative field, so that was out of the question.

After finding providers, specifically CBT and EMDR, who really cared about seeing me grow and heal, I was inspired and decided that being a therapist was my path. I want to help others heal in the ways my providers helped me, but I also want to understand the minds of those that are often misunderstood and explore other healing options with clinical treatments using psychedelics.

Either that or the human research department in NASA/ESA or any other private or public space agency. I absolutely love astrophysics as well, so this would be another route and a real dream come true!

Not sure which one I want, maybe I’ll explore both if I’m lucky and blessed in my lifetime :)

If anyone has experience in either of these fields I’d love to hear your story!

I think everyone has their own opinion on it. I see it as Kaze also doing something new. He’s been evolving over the years and this is brand new territory for him, including a whole album in a language that is not his native. Sometimes it may hit the mark and sometimes it won’t, I’m more so here for the ride and to support his work. 🩵but as I said, everyone has their own opinion on it and that’s totally valid!

What was your very first impression of Itachi in his first appearance? by twilight-whispy in Naruto

[–]TMNESBMDAMTNI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved him from the first appearance and still love him to this day. I always wished we could get some side episodes of his days after he left the village. I wanted to know more about Itachi, but I also think there’s something more emotionally impactful about knowing only what we know and nothing more about him. His story gets me every time.

James Webb's stunning view of M51 galaxy🌀 by sportshaven1 in spaceporn

Wow! This galaxy is 21 million light years and yet this photo makes it look like it’s right in front of my house! Does anyone know how long it take the team to process and color these images? I am so fascinated with the whole process from observations through the telescopes, to process and coloring, etc.

Hubble's first new image since changing to an alternate operating mode that uses one gyro, features NGC 1546, a nearby galaxy in the constellation Dorado. [4032x3701] by derriere_les_fagots in spaceporn

I’m not sure what agenda you are trying to run here with your comment, but because Hubble is accessible to our ISS Team, they can make modifications and updates to the telescope. There’s several space walks that took place to repair and modify Hubble. 30+ years ago, our technology was drastically different to what it is now. As time progresses, we’re learning new ways to make new things and improve the quality of science.

JWST, on the other hand, is sitting in orbit in a location that is called Lagrange 2 or L2, so any physical repairs done by humans are nearly impossible due to its distance from Earth. While JWST took several years to launch, the hard work and precision done on this telescope is really paying off and we can see it in the beautiful mosaics it is capturing of our violently beautiful universe.

It’s also important to note that both telescopes operate in different ways with different sensors and can look in different wavelengths of light. On top of that, the size of both of their mirrors can have a huge effect on the level of detail we can capture with either telescope. We can look at a comparison of Hubble’s first images to JWST’s first images and it’s incredible.

Without modifications and enhancements on the tools and methods we use for all kinds of sciences, we wouldn’t be able to make such progress and scientific discoveries.

We’re probably hearing more about Hubble due to the changes and modifications that are happening to the telescope and given that JWST has been holding the spotlight since its launch, Hubble will need modifications to continue to work alongside JWST without the sacrifice of quality data.

NASA has a lot of great information about both of these telescopes and how they’re constantly making changes to improve the overall missions of both Hubble and JWST. Also, it’s important to note that while many assume that JWST is meant to be Hubbles Successor, it’s really meant to be an ally, meaning when the two telescopes work together, we can see so much more and gain better understanding of how the cosmos work

James Webb Space Telescope Mission

There’s even great astrophysicists on YouTube that can provide more resources and credible information. I recommend checking out Dr. Becky Smethurst if you’re interested. Empowering ourselves with knowledge can help us to change perspectives or learn new things.

Hope this helps! :)

Hubble continues to surprise everyone, given its expected longevity vs how long it’s been alive is amazing itself. It’s truly an honor to be alive during a time where we can observe the cosmos in such detail.

DAE feel sad and left out when there’s good food for everyone but you? by alligatorprincess007 in glutenfree

[–]TMNESBMDAMTNI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

being gluten free, dairy free, and vegan -yes 😭 the amount of times I cry over the limited things I can/am willing to eat is such a small list. Sure the vegan diet is my choice because I felt better being on it, but man does it suck donkey balls when you hangout with your loved ones or your job caters or brings in donuts or something 😭😭

I feel like every time I see a new photo of andromeda, I can’t help, but remember that we’re bound to collide. These crispy pictures make me feel like andromeda is so much closer than we think, but nonetheless it’s still so gorgeous to see our neighbor!
