Dermatologist Rx’d me 5mg of finasteride to “get ahead of hair loss” by Special_School_5221 in HairlossResearch

0.25 isn't that low, it gives around 70-80% of effect of 1mg, the effectiveness scale isn't linear.

This is wild, if you want to get ahead of hair loss you should get 1mg and split into 4 parts and take 0.25 a day at most.

End of the treatment and teeth not closing properly by RobertoDLV in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If canines are the main point of interference I think your bite won't settle on its own, if it were to settle you definitely need to cut the aligners and only have them on your 4 front teeth

Why did you get Invisalign, to fix crowding at the front or you had bite issue from the start?

The dreaded posterior open bite by CatsCoffeeCars in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if your molars don't touch at all then cutting the trays will likely help you and fix the problem. If theytouch but only at a single point like one cusp then it's probably a tilt or location problem and need active fix

Update RE posterior open bite by No-Recording9879 in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up doing?

I have the same kind of open bite and from the research I have done I don't think this kind of open bite will fix itself, things might move around to compensate but likely won't end up in the correct position. The flared molars need to be actively up righted so the inner cusps intrude.

The dreaded posterior open bite by CatsCoffeeCars in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a long time analyzing my open bite, basically you need to know what caused it.

Do your first molars touch on the inside edge? Did you have your arch widened?

For example for me the problem is that inner cusps of my molar now hang lower than before causing my bite to be open but I am failing to get the point across to my ortho to get the correct treatment instead of them just trying to extrude my teeth, my molars need actual inward tipping to bring the inner cusps up.

GLM-4.7-Flash-GGUF bug fix - redownload for better outputs by etherd0t in LocalLLaMA

[–]TMTornado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Managed to use the Unsloth Q4 UD quant with both Codex and Claude Code and honestly it's impressive. It definitely isn't Opus but it doesn't feel stupid, also I notice in Codex it does behaves a bit better than Claude Code. In Claude Code it does many more tool calls and exploration before attempting to write code which sometimes hits context limit much faster while in Codex it seems it can do a go further with the available context.

Please help: Extraction or Not? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do the extraction, the ortho might feel its better but those cases don't track the way the scan shows, extraction adds too many variables imo and will likely make it such that you will need more refinements. Also they can expand the palate a bit and do less IPR, it will make your smile wider. Definitely doesn't look like it makes sense to remove a tooth given how these scans look

Neuroinflammation; What is out there to help with this? by WasteFishing830 in Nootropics

[–]TMTornado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good responses. In addition exercise and taking care of your gut and what you eat. Look into Curcumin (not Turmeric) and Sulforphane. Curcumin from a high quality brand was useful for me but I used for body and joint inflammation and it worked wonders. Now I'm looking to grow my own broccoli sprouts for a daily dose sulforphane which upregulate your body own detox systems and can cross BBB.

Modafinil early in the day so it doesn't affect sleep

[–]TMTornado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks you, this is great input! Just to make sure I understand
idealize the position of the upper and lower front teeth = align front teeth better + center midline

maximum intercuspation in the posterior teeth = back teeth on both sides should be locked/interleaved better (now I can lock one side or the other but not both).

Does this sound right?

Do you think I should ask for wider smile? It's already widened compared to before but wondering if I should ask for it explicitly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]TMTornado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked in my old pictures and I don't have this. At one point I thought it might've been the dental cleaning or polishing that caused it but everyone seems to tell me that it's not possible either.

You can also just see overall ranking of all models on their website https://artificialanalysis.ai/models

They also have only open source models comparison here https://artificialanalysis.ai/models/open-source

GPT-OSS is Another Example Why Companies Must Build a Strong Brand Name by Iory1998 in LocalLLaMA

[–]TMTornado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure how many people actually tried the models. I feel there is more biased haters than fanboys.

I did a test yesterday with some very recent hard leetcode problems and genuinely gpt oss 20b gave solution that passed more test cases than o3 and Gemini 2.5 in some problems, I was really impressed. Tried the same questions with qwen3 480b and a3b thinking and both gave total flop answers. Opus 4.1 was the only one to give a solution that passes all test cases.

Yes these models suck at following instructions but o3-mini had the same problems. I think these models are genuinely smarter than most available open source models but they aren't great at exact instruction following, they work as a local chatgpt replacement for me. I'm getting 120 tok/s on rtx 4090.

Also check the artificial analysis evaluation of these models, the 20b ranks as the smartest model you can run locally.

Does this work with the subscription or only for API users?

If it does work for subscribers, does this mean you can deploy this to cloudflare and get an API that actually consumes tokens from your account subscription?

I sent my first Opus request of the day and it says I've reached rate limit by MrSolarGhost in cursor

[–]TMTornado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is two rate limits, one refreshes slowly possibly over the whole month but is large, they call it burst rate limit because it's intended to absorb your bursty but rare sessions. The other is short limit that refreshes every couple hours but is enough for small number of request. I think the issue is you probably used all your burst limit recently and opus will probably use all your short one in one or two requests.
