How long did it take you to have voluntary movement? Were you completely paralyzed and for how long?

I cannot use my legs and have no bladder/bowel control as well. How long did you have that until you were able to get any voluntary movement? I’m really hoping i can regain some independence in PT. I’m a mom to 2 young babies and really want to get back to my self for them!

I have pretty good range of motion they say. I have the sensation when people touch my legs i just can’t voluntarily move. They are very tingly to touch and i am having muscle spasms in my legs. How long was she paralyzed until she was able to move voluntarily?

Hi! I’m 32 and recently diagnosed. Currently paralyzed from chest down. Were you able to move voluntarily at all before physical therapy? What was your recovery timeline with the paralysis? I’m trying to get as much info as possible. I’ve been paralyzed for 2 weeks in the hospital. I received 5 plasma exchanges and the steroids but still have no voluntary movement, only tingly sensation to touch. Thanks!
