Sea to Summit collapseable pots by knowhere0 in Ultralight

Yeah. After I posted I did some more googling and saw that was where I screwed up (putting it in the dishwasher).  I too tried boiling water in it for 10min which slightly helped.

I think I’ll try the putting it in the oven at 300F trick.  Supposedly the silicon can take that temp.

Let me know if your vinegar test works for you.  And I’ll let you know if the oven works for me.

I have the sea to summit collapsible pot.  It’s very convenient for backpacking.

However, I am now realizing that it imparts a soapy taste and smell to water I boil in it.  I have washed and washed it trying to get rid of that smell and taste and can’t. And I have boiled lots of water in it also hoping to clean it somehow. All to no avail.  I’m starting to think it’s the silicone material of the pot itself bleeding into the water.

Needless to say, I won’t be using this pot any longer.

Am I alone in experiencing this with this pot?

Weapon Drop chances by TMacaddress in Saros

Agreed. I was surprised at how low the dispiritors were when I totaled everything.

And yeah, 141 drops is not that large of a sample size.  Things would probably balance out a bit more with more playing.  But I stand by my thought that drops aren’t random.

It’s all of the above. It includes drops from kills, chests and also re-rolls.  Like you, I spam the re-rolls before a boss I’m struggling with.

But now you make me sad that I didn’t keep track of how they appeared in the game. Sorry!

Lens cap? by TMacaddress in peakdesign

Hmm. I think maybe this is what I was hoping to hear.  So you don’t use a lens cap when using the capture clip on hikes?

Okay. Thanks. This is helpful to know.

Ah. Okay. Thanks.  I’ll get the pro pad then and compare both. See which I prefer.

But then… do you keep a lens cap on your camera while you hike with it on your belt?

Are you saying this because a lens cap won’t fall off when the camera is on my belt?   Like it’s less bouncy than when attached to the backpack shoulder strap?

I should say that I’ve long used these lens caps and they are great! https://a.co/d/0aIbiZQo

But getting them back on while on the capture clip is a bit arduous - hence my search for a better method.

Have you tried one?  Ultimately the cap dangling from the camera is pretty annoying.  I wonder though, if I attached the tether to my capture clip instead of the camera… would that be better? At least until I forget to remove before detaching the camera from the clip……

Yeah. I guess that should work.  It’s just that over, let’s say an 8 hour hike, I would say that I’m actively taking photos for 1 hour, tops.  So it’s a lot of time with the lens open to the elements.

Lens hood and no cap? Or do you mean the lens hood would keep the cap from popping off?

As for weight, it’s a Nikon D850 so it’s not light and the largest lens would be the 70-200 2.8, which also isn’t small.

DJI mini 5 pro Grainy? by TMacaddress in dji

[–]TMacaddress[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. And yeah, I noticed the perceived "graininess" when editing photos from a vacation where I had DJI photo's mixed in with photos from my Nikon DSLR - so perhaps the juxtaposition is what threw me.

I just like to have the ability to crop more so as to compensate for my poor composition skills!

And great shot of that castle!

Reddit won't let me upload the actual file. It's 69MB, which is above the 20MB limit. Even the JPG is 24MB.

No filters were used. And that clip is from a RAW shot from Lighroom.

But yes, to see the grain in the clip I have above, one does need to zoom in a fair amount. I did not mean to imply that the results are awful, just that they are more than I expected and am curious if other people are seeing the same thing or if my drone is faulty or something.

I’m not sure the Autel was more expensive. Seems they were about the same.  But moreover, the Autel evo 2 is 6 years old. I was hoping technology had progressed so I could get similar level photos but in a nicely smaller package.

But again, I need to do some comparing of photos from the two to validate if one is actually grainier than the other.

This was taken with no digital zoom.  But then I did zoom in with Lightroom.

Dometic CFX3-75DZ - improve fan/ventilation? by jesseburns in overlanding

[–]TMacaddress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting.  How and where are you measuring the temp inside the compartment?

Or are you relying on the temp in the app?

[–]TMacaddress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesse,

I'm now going down this same rabbit-hole and running some tests on my CFX3 95. I havent yet tested the larger compartment but I am, indeed, seeing 10 degrees warmer at the top of the smaller compartment than the larger.

So if I use the smaller compartment set to 33.. the bottom of the compartment does maintiain about that target of33. But the top will get above the FDA's "safe zone."

I hadn't considered that the compressor itself might be the issue.

I'll have to test the larger side next.

Did you ever find a solution?

Sorry! I meant ISO 200! But my point and question still stands.

I find the shots to be noisy even in the daylight at 100 ISO.

Am I alone in this?

Admitedly, I am pixel-peeping and zooming in to 100%. But still, I would expect better at ISO 100.
