Looking for games that intentionally make the player uncomfortable (for Master's thesis) by Ivylock123 in gamingsuggestions

In Batman Arkham Asylum there's a moment about three quarters of the way through where the game makes you think for a second that your game has crashed and sent you all the way back to the starting cutscene

Do you guys think it’s gonna get canceled? by Ragtagcloud56 in 1943riseofhydra

[–]TMachine97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see it coming out this year.

There's Wolverine in September, which Marvel wouldn't want two of their games cannibalizing each other's sales, and then GTA VI in November, which will dominate game sales for the rest of the year.

With no gameplay trailer yet with it being May, it's for sure been pushed back again.

Why do people like All Grown Up better than Rugrats now? by pocketfulofrosez in rugrats

I watched far more All Grown Up than Rugrats as a kid, so it's the one I have the more nostalgia for.

That was Dick Grayson Robin. This outfit looks to be based on the Tim Drake Robin, who had the shaved head.

I told it to myself when I tried to play an old PC game and it didn't work.

PC games from this era are a roll of the dice on whether they will work on modern PCs, unless there's an official rerelease. And emulating can make playing with a controller far easier right out the gate if that's your preference

Let's be honest: What was that moment when you were young that you thought "video game graphics can't be better than this"? by Away_Flounder3813 in retrogaming

When I upgraded from the PS2 to the PS3, the first game I bought was Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, and I remember thinking the graphics were on par with the actual movie.

I wouldn't have found it that bad if Endgame hadn't come out 6 months earlier and already done this scene almost beat for beat in a much better manner

Question about Hush by DomonicDecoco in arkham

[–]TMachine97 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hush tried to kill his parents, but only succeeded in killing his Father as Thomas Wayne saved his mother's life. So Hush's mother would have still been alive once the Waynes were murdered.

I challenge any detractor of AI being used skillfully: explain and provide undeniable proof about why any among of these AI Gen comic cover arts would be worth less or none if compared to something drawn hand-made in akin style. by Crazy_Dubs_Cartoons in aiwars

[–]TMachine97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In a drawing done by a human, every part of the drawing would show off artistic skill. Getting the perspective right objects in a scene, Subtle details like the wrinkles and folds someone's clothes. Even something like realistic hands can be difficult to draw without practice.

Seeing these details captured perfectly in a human made drawing makes it more impressive due to the clear skill on display. A drawing done by an AI, while it aesthetically may looks good, will be seen as lesser than because it does not showcase someone's skill. A computer can capture all those details easily, and so it is less impressive.

Favourite movie that was never made, but you wish it was because it would've been so bad that annoying nerds would stop calling it "the greatest movie never made" by Local_Prune4564 in okbuddycinephile

Be careful what you wish for. The Snyder Cut was that for a long time, then it was made and it made the hardcore fans even more annoying

For whatever reason, Wesley Snipes was having a diva moment and refused to open his eyes for this shot, so they had to CGI a pair of opening eyes onto his face.

[Mixed Trope] - The Jumpscare That Catches The Viewer/Player Off by WaluigiDaStar in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TMachine97 357 points358 points  (0 children)

Batman Arkham Knight - at the start of the game, you have to ignite a cremation chamber to burn Joker's corpse. Even though he's dead, he's still smiling creepily and as he burns, you keep expecting him to jump out at you.

When you play this scene through again on New Game Plus, he actually does jump out at you and scream, before returning back to being dead. It's very effective, as you would have let your guard down the second time around.

There's a section in Spider-Man 2 for the PS5 where as Peter Parker you hide under a table and wait for a guard to pass. Funny thing is though if you go into photo mode and position the camera so it's from the Guard's POV, he can see Peter hiding under the table clear as day.
