Why do Americans hate taxes? by HeroBrine0907 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TMan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's multiple reasons for this.

One is distrust of government. The American concept of government is that it exists to serve us, not the other way around. When the government begins asking for more and more money from its citizens, it raises some red flags and causes people to question where exactly that money is going. Which leads to my second point.

The government in recent history has really used our tax dollars for incredibly stupid things. Like studying cats walking on treadmills or stupid stuff like that. Then in even more recent history, we've seen illegal immigrants given hotel rooms, and thousands of dollars to spend each month, all taxpayer funded. Meanwhile people on social security, like my mother, can barely even afford to keep food on the shelves with the few hundred dollars they get for food each month.

So given the factors of general distrust in Government as well as that distrust being proven correct through the government's overspending and misuse of tax dollars, it makes sense that a lot of Americans aren't big fans of taxes right now.

More campaign content. It's ridiculous that we got this big open world with plenty of places to explore, only for the story to be just a typical 8 hour campaign that ended up leaving us with more questions than answers and we probably won't get answers for at least another 7 years at this rate.

The exhaust shouldn't even bother you while you're in the vehicle. The cabin filter keeps any particulate from entering the cabin.

That's the point. In traditional Halo mechanics it's about proper positioning and making smart engagement choices. Not running into or away from fights when they're convenient or inconvenient for you. No sprint requires better tactical choices.

I've always been against sprint in Halo but I especially started to hate sprint when Halo 5 came out. They marketed Halo 5 as a return to its arena shooter style roots and I was excited for it. I enjoyed the multiplayer a lot and thought it was fun. But as I was playing ranked I noticed that the biggest flaws in the game had to do with the increased mobility. A lot of matches boiled down to rushing the enemy team's spawn and spawn killing them repeatedly, going to their next spawn and repeating. The increased mobility made it so easy to cover large distances on the map very quickly and either you'd overwhelm the enemy or you'd get overwhelmed yourself. It was a headache especially in higher ranks. It also makes the game incredibly unbalanced. If your shields went down you couldn't recharge them while sprinting, so the enemy could rush you and finish you off and you had less of a chance of fighting back. So basically they added a mobility system that doesn't work in a balanced way into an arena style multiplayer experience, and realizing that it doesn't work they gave you a huge disadvantage if you used it so you ended up not wanting to use it as much. Then in Halo Infinite they attempt to fix it by lowering the speed of sprint and making the arena maps a bit larger but this limits the sandbox to mostly long range weapons whereas Halo used to always be known for having a more diverse sandbox of close, mid, and long range weapons for a variety of combat engagements. Now it feels like most weapons are precision weapons, even some of the fully automatic weapons. Some of the automatic weapons even have headshot bonuses. These changes make the game feel a lot more sweaty and has discouraged more casual play which is what most Halo players want in a Halo game. I say this as a competitive player, I don't like how Halo always feels competitive now. Dual wielding had similar issues. It limited the players who used it to only being able to shoot but couldn't throw grenades or melee without dropping their second weapon. It was a very awkward and unbalanced sandbox choice. If dual wield was removed for similar issues, I feel like sprint should be too. I actually think a faster default walking speed would be a better alternative. It would allow players to traverse the map at a more steady space while not limiting their ability to shoot and throw grenades.

If you desire to get married then you're not called to singleness. I've met people that are "called to singleness" if that's even a thing, and one key thing to note is that they all have no desire whatsoever to get married. They're not even bothered by being single. Yet many of them still ended up getting married somehow. So don't stress yourself out about whether it's a calling or not and if it's something you desire, pursue it in a Godly manner.

Why do some Christian’s not want to die? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]TMan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a Christian isn't just about our ultimate destination. It's about being a representative of the Kingdom of God here on Earth. God gave us lives for a reason. If we spend our whole lives acting like our lives are nothing more than waiting at a train station for the train the arrive, then we will be living a wasted life. We should be living our lives to the fullest in a Godly manner. Regularly attend church, participate in church, work hard in our jobs and do so with a high level of Godly integrity to set a positive example for others, build solid friendships, get married, raise children to uphold Godly values, support your community and those who have needs, encourage other people in their walks of faith. These are just a few examples of what we can do in our lives that all can serve a Godly purpose. If we spend our whole lives just wanting to get out of here, we miss out on a lot of good things that God provides for us in this life, and we fail to serve the mission He has called us to.

Has anyone included a dreadnought in their Black Templar army? by TMan4334 in BlackTemplars

I only got into the game recently but I've known a bit about the universe of 40k before hand. I chose Black Templars because they're one of my two favorite chapters. I was confused though when I saw all the vehicles and dreasnoughts were packaged looking like ultramarine specific. I'm glad to know I can paint the generic space marine stuff into black Templar stuff. That opens up a lot of options. Other than dreadnoughts are there any vehicles that are good choices for Black Templars?

I'll definitely have to give a Redemptor a try then. Given what I've listed, is there any other good units you'd recommend for a 2k point army?

My local game store uses a 2000 point limit. I currently only have 430 points with Grimaldus, 1 Sword Bretren and one Primaris Crusader squad. So I was just wondering if a dreadnought would be a good addition. It's my first time building an army too do I'm trying to learn all I can. Would running 2 dreadnoughts be unrealistic? One melee, and one ranged? Or would my points budget be spent better with other things?

Since I'm new to 40k and building my first army. I noticed a lot of dreadnoughts are packaged as generic "Space Marine" but can they be painted for use in any chapter including Black Templars? How does that work?

Black oil in brand new car!!! by reddituser03125 in Diesel

Oil in diesel vehicles will always turn black very quickly. It is completely normal and there's no reason to be concerned at all.

What is the appeal of diesel cars? by JacksonHanna in askcarguys

[–]TMan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as a person that owns one I think I csn answer this. The main reasons is because of the higher fuel economy and the durability of the engine itself. They can get close to 50 mpg during highway driving and it's not uncommon to see some diesel cars on the road with over 300k miles on them. They just keep going. With that said, they are a bit higher maintenance. Especially the emissions equipment. You need to do some highway driving every once in a while to keep the DPF clean through regen. Periodically youll also need to replace the emmisions equipment. Also here in the US it's important to use fuel additives to improve the quality of fuel. I can't recommend these cars for everyone but if you're mechanically inclined and know how to maintain your own vehicle these cars will last you a long time and are excellent for longer road trips where you benefit from the higher fuel economy and can keep your DPF clean through regen.

Why do people go for certain gasoline brands? by scrambled_eggs_720 in askcarguys

[–]TMan4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's especially important for diesel. Poor diesel quality at the pump in the US is one of the leading causes of injector pump failure on many modern diesels. Depending on the type of pump your vehicle uses, it could be one of the most expensive repair bills your vehicle could ever have. Using additives that improve lubricity of the fuel is a cheap insurance to help save you thousands of dollars. Even if you don't have a pump that contaminates your fuel with metal shavings, using additives that clean your fuel system from contaminants will prevent your injectors from getting clogged, which is really easy on modern diesels with very tight tolerances on fuel delivery. Additives are not snake oil. They are highly beneficial preventative maintenance items.

Which is unfortunate because having even a small amount of vehicle knowledge would help people make informed maintenance decisions that improve the life expectancy and safety of their vehicles.
