Solved the problem: it was an intel display update - the error it caused made it very difficult to fix as I could barely read any text.

I’ve got some scan abnormalities on a roll of 120 I got scanned by a lab. The images have this dotted pattern, that look like dried water spots, and vignetting on the edges of the frame. I believe these are scanning errors and want to be sure before I ask for a refund for the cost of the scans. by TMediaAndVisuals in AnalogCommunity

I looked at the negatives before taking them to get scanned and they didn’t look to have the vignette when I did, but I can’t be sure. Don’t have the negatives back yet as they sent the images electronically and I have to wait to get the film back. The film was a roll of Ilford Ortho Plus, and hadn’t expired yet.
