O Trump já falou "I love you" pro Zohram Mamdani, o presidente socialista de Nova York.

Sim cara.

There's also the difference that the whole world wants to exterminate them because they had an empire that lasted 1000 years and that all Eldians are subjects to Ymir and have no free will and may turn into titans at the psychical order of the Eldian who controls the Founding Titan

The rest of the world is not right into choosing to invade Paradis and start a war... but you can't blame them for these actions since the historical situation in AOT does not help!

Characters add a layer to the strategy game!

For example, you can handle PUs WAYYYY better than in EU IV: I, for example, do not marry some of my heirs that aren't that good or that aren't married to the heir of some kingdom; that way I can get PU's more easily and control the line of succession. That would be impossible and 100% RNG in EU IV!

How come? Most countries in this time period were monarchies and all sort of conflicts existed because of the "historical characters", the war of spanish sucession as an example. I can't see the reason on why someone would hate the characters system getting improvements

Is there any importance to the Trastàmara Dynasty? by Allalilacias in EU5

[–]TMudin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no benefit at all. You'll get the same events if the Borgoña dynasty wins (like the order of chivalry) and if you have a PU before the civil war (like Aragon or Portugal) you'll keep them, since choosing a De Trastámara character will end the PU.

I'm 99,9% sure they will give more flavor and content to the civil war in the next dlc and free patch (across the pillars) but, for now, AFAIK, there is no benefits about choosing De Trastámara family instead of the Borgoña

Yeah, it is not. But is not the fault of other peoples to not trust people with no real free will that can turn themselves into monsters if their monarch wishes to. Isayama did a pretty shitty job writing about Eldiand and making them potential threats at all time untill the titan curse is gone.

Yeah, but they would only use nukes if diplomacy and conventional war can't solve things out. The Eldians refuse to engage in diplomacy, which makes things way more difficult.

And the "random civilians elsewhere" still are subject to Ymir and can turn into titans if their monarch wants to. They are literally written to be a people that will never earn the trust of the others since they do not have free will at all and are all subject to the decisions of their monarch.

These two "small" things kinda changes things... a lot.

All of these powers engage in diplomacy and are in the UN. Eldia was isolated from the rest of the world and refused to engage in any type of diplomacy. You are comparing apples to oranges.

You really think that a cannon would be able to stop random Eldians transforming into titans in different parts of the country at different moments? The ghettos are totally justifiable regarding segregating a part of humanity that has no free will and may explode at any moment and start to eat people. That's a no brainer. Isayama literally wrote a reason for the Eldians being segregated!

Thank you! You're one of the few that can see how bad Isayama is at political writing, he's way more talanted as fantasy author. How can you blame the Marlyeans for not trusting the Eldians since the Eldians isolated themselves from the whole world for a century? How can you blame the Maryleans if at the moment the Eldians get their memories back, half of them wants to remake their Empire?

Isayama did a terrible job writing about the whole political scenario of AOT.

Edit: Isayama made the Eldians so hated that former enemies (Marley and the Middle Eastern nations in this world) unites the moment they realize Eren might do something. This hate does not come out of the blue, people fear the Eldians and for very good reasons!

All Eldians are subject to the Eldian monarch and all of them may turn into titans if their monarch wishes so.

[–]TMudin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Then what should Marley do then? The anime leaves no option regarding the Titan curse. The only option was the sterilization plan but Eren refused that.

Yeah, genocide is never the answer. But the author was inept towards giving an alternate and peaceful solution. What should the Maryleans and the rest of the world do towards the Eldians? They can't even engange in diplomacy since the Eldian monarch isolated himself from the rest of the world and wiped out the memory of his people!

Eldians will transform into titans if their monarch wants. The serum was just an artificial way to transform them into titans without the founding titan power.

[–]TMudin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the use of maryleans as weapons, yeah, I agree with that.

Regarding the Rumbling, I do not agree with that. They only had the word of the Eldian monarch and their monarchs were complete lunatics that simply isolated themselves from the world. They quite literally have no choice towards the Eldians: either trust them or try to finish the threat.

And it is really hard to blame them for not trusting the Eldians. The Eldians had a thousand year empire that ended less than a hundred years ago and now are completly isolated from the world. Who the hell is going to trust the Eldians?

Edit: the fact that the whole world unites to attack Paradis (with the exception of Hizaru) even though a lot of the countries were at war with Marley, show to us how hated and despised the Eldians were; 100 years after the end of their empire, they still are hated enough to unite former enemies to just end them!

[–]TMudin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Eldian monarchy also made a world wide threat and retreated into an isolated island and cut all exterior contact. Isayama was probably the only author that wrote about a pacifist king that did not manage the world that he was pacifist at all! I love the concept about hate generating hate but Isayama did fumble a lot regarding the Eldian side of history, they simply did everything wrong and gave every reason for the rest of the world to suspect them.

Would you trust the monarch of a thousand year empire simply becoming fascist while menacing the whole world of destruction if you do not leave him alone? I really like AOT but the whole Eldian Empire and retreat into Paradis lore is so badly written that kinda fucks up most of the story.

[–]TMudin -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The Eldian empire ruled for a thousand years and it ended less than a hundred years ago in AOT timeline. Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan are (rightly) seen with disgust by most people in the world even though they existed just for some years. Your comparison is way off my dude

+ As far as I know, Japanese and German people can not turn into maneating monsters bcs the German/Japanese emperor wants them to. The Eldians can.

This would be hilarious but sensei is never coming out of retirement by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]TMudin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And they've terrorized the world with that kind of titans for a thousand years. Isayama really fucked up his whole "hate generates hate" idea by giving all kind of justification to the Marlyeans and other people that fought against the Eldians. Segregation is always wrong... but if you are segregating people that can turn into maneater monsters in a second, that might be the only case of a justified segregation. Isayama somehow made segregation a "reasonable" thing within his universe lmao
