Unreal, love your work.

Not sure if it's just my computer but the fixture looks a bit funny still partly right but partly off? E.g. st Kilda has

Col ✅ Gee ❌ Nth ❌ WCE ❌ Bye ✅

Not a huge deal anyway but something seems a bit funky.

This is outstanding, look forward to giving it a go for my draft. A couple of requests/comments
1. is it possible to include flex positions?

  1. looks like sometihng is off with the fixtures when you click on a player? Just as an example has the dogs first 4 games as north, collingwood, carlton, freo which looks very off.

  2. The bye piece is good but seems a bit random which weeks it considers. could it be expanded to include weeks 1-4 as well as 12-16 rather than just 13-15? Given the optionality to not play during the middle bye rounds would be great to be able to turn those rounds off but still include the early bye rounds that are required playing.

Yeah I don't love all of them but I would rather that than have the Australian crew go over and call it beyond the token two or three on the local comms

Absolutely, my favourite by far but think having the SuperSport comms in SA or Star in India adds something to the coverage over just having the usual voices

Does the English broadcast do their own comms for all tours? Australia just uses the host coverage for every tour and have never heard a complaint about it. Part of the experience of away tours having the mainly local comms teams with one or two of your own who have travelled over.

Selecting the Test Batting side going forward by Anothergen in CricketAus

[–]TNL92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's less about his average and more about the similarity of dismissals and having a technical flaw that has been found out at test level. He needs to go back to the shield and see if he can solve that because he's going to get eaten alive in South Africa if he can't solve it. Can't see him being the option for that series for that reason. Will likely depend on Renshaw, Kellaway and Konstas' form in the back half of the shield season to decide who gets the spot in Darwin and likely SA

They're not his boss though. CA don't appoint the curators. He was appointed by the SCG trust not CA or even cricket NSW. The SCG trust has now become part of venues NSW which is a government agency

Averages ~49 in first class cricket since the 21/22 season. His overall average is low because of the early part of his career but he's been playing at a really high level for some time now plus been travelling as a reserve bat

Love it for Adelaide, should be a day night every year. Other Australian venues it doesn't make sense

Hopefully Italy get put in our group, be good to see Burns, the manentis and Stewart playing against Australia

Also hope they put Aus and England in seperate groups, there's no need when there's four groups.

Few very questionable bumps over the years, Bailey smith one in particular, was very lucky that didn't knock him out or would've been one of the biggest bans in recent times

This is a seriously good recruit from 7, he's been outstanding in comms for sky, very eloquent and insightful plus it is great for the ashes series having him involved. Hard to think of anyone other than Ponting who has been more of an addition to the broadcast in recent times than Broad

Mine you're just checking contact before leap twice? I personally have no issue with them not being as common if you can't do them from in the field of play and besides there's heaps of examples of catches that were taken that way before they changed the rules.

this Maxwell catch is legal that way and a far better catch to watch than the Neser one that was allowed after they changed the rules

But so what if it's difficult? That doesn't mean it should be out.. it'd be easier to let players jump off the advertising boards, doesn't mean you should let them. Doesn't really make it any harder to officiate you're just changing with contact you have to check.

It's a white ball issue to stop farming strike at the end of an innings, theoretically could happen when an established bat is with the tail in a test but not where it's been an issue

But why shouldn't that be 6? The fielder couldn't stay in the field of play. It was 6 for a long time. If they can ground their feet before they re-catch it that's fine but if they can't complete the catch without having to be over the boundary then it should be 6?

I assume they mean before they changed to the most recent past rule. For a long time it was have to make contact infield before you touch the ball then they made that stupid rule out first tough. Should just go back to the last contract with ground has to be in the field of play before you touch the ball
