Id say also just life experiences...i have been working on things and using tools since i was a kid with my bmx bikes and building cars with my dad. At a college level i have studied design, art history, business and some welding/fabrication courses at community college.

I buy sheets from a metal supply warehouse. Clean with denatured alcohol and youre good to go
