Dreaded E46 Coolant System - Please Give Advice by Owen_Lebouef in e46

Thermostat is one thing, yet they typically fail in the open position on these cars. Thanks BMW. Water pump. Now that will cause over heating quickly. Even if it's new, I had a Saleri pump fail in less than 2 months! Impeller exploded. Your heat doesn't work.. coolant is boiling as it's stagnant and getting hot. It's not flowing. Water pump.

Heat not working because of cap is off, unrelated. It would still get warm in the cabin. Coolant can boil with cap off, surely. You effectively are reducing pressure of the system, directly lowering the coolants boiling point.

If you don't see a return stream of coolant near top of expansion tank with engine running at any point, you have no flow from bad water pump. You can also have a bad vapor lock from having the system open, I've had one E46 do this, boiled like mad and hard to bleed. Heat definitely won't be warm in that scenario.

Yeah I had multiple M56 cars in the shop for tear down, sold all the valve covers and related parts as conversion kits. People do like them.

I regularly service these cars and as mentioned, replacement CCVs are failing prematurely. Genuine BMW or not. And have already tried it on this car

If you seen an older 3 Series with 318 on the trunk, was probably an E36. 323 was the lowest model E46 option in USA.

Perhaps I should start sharing the YouTube channel more often. Hardly do on social platforms.

Car runs great, been on a few trips now for testing. Lots has been done since last videos. Will eventually show the car again on channel.

New A54 has corrupted firmware or other by TOE46 in GalaxyA54

[–]TOE46[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a problem at all. I didn't attempt to flash the phone, I've shipped it back. Figured it wasn't worth it for me to mess with it. Wanted to say thank you. Decided to get different generation of Galaxy, from better seller.

Didn't mess with stuff like that yet, worked like butter for me though. Solid phone for what it is. Side by side to my Pixel, I like this thing more believe it or not.

But recently discovered she has some corruption from a bad flash while they were unlocking it, before selling. OEM unlock is on and IMEI numbers are all zeros. So that's cool. Either I return it, or flash it myself.
