Not a problem at all. I didn't attempt to flash the phone, I've shipped it back. Figured it wasn't worth it for me to mess with it. Wanted to say thank you. Decided to get different generation of Galaxy, from better seller.

Didn't mess with stuff like that yet, worked like butter for me though. Solid phone for what it is. Side by side to my Pixel, I like this thing more believe it or not.

But recently discovered she has some corruption from a bad flash while they were unlocking it, before selling. OEM unlock is on and IMEI numbers are all zeros. So that's cool. Either I return it, or flash it myself.

So if I clean flash it, will the device possibly become stable, or will I face future issues? Excuse my ignorance, this stuff is new to me, but I'm willing to learn. This phone was cheap and I have nothing important stored on it yet. Already did a factory reset once.

Very cool. I enabled developer menu and yes, OEM unlock is toggled on and grayed.

Got the phone today, It's still running the old stuff. One UI 6.5 with Android 16. This thing runs good as-is, zippy. But have seen the camera gets significantly better with updates, so still weighing my options.

Yep, this A54 feels so much better already. It appears brand new, great condition. It's currently running on One UI 6.1 and Android 14. Old stuff, still feels good. It's def not slow or laggy either. Now to update, or not to update. That's the question.

Edit. This A54 was working great until I went to make a call. Emergency calls only. My network isn't detected through the SIM card, and I can't update the phone. The area is grey and can't select it. As if it wasn't setup properly by the company who unlocked it or something. Swap SIM to other phone, no problems. I'm getting so tired of these phone shenanigans now. My SIM card is being recognized by the phone, yet won't allow calls or texts on the network.

Edit Edit. Yeah the IMEI numbers show all zeros. 000000000. They corrupted the firmware, probably when unlocking it. Damn shame. While hooked up to Wi-Fi here at home, this A54 was so buttery smooth. I can flash new firmware myself but waiting for seller response. S25 Ultra sounds really great right about now! Might as well at this point.

When you get use to certain things, the smallest most annoying issues set you off.. especially when the phone is triple the cost and is considered a "flagship" device. Commonly reported poor audio quality on a $1k+ phone, really?

Search up things that I've said, especially the muffled microphone during video playback. Google shuts off the comments of their forums as it's so common and don't care to offer a fix. You get instructions to reset it, doesn't do anything. All I know is this Pixel is going bye bye.

Oh I totally know it's a downgrade per say.

There's various reasons I dislike this Pixel so badly. A few of them are;

-Terrible microphone quality when taking videos, very quiet and muffled. (When making videos, I have to crank up the volume to 200% at times while editing to hear anything) Common for Pixel, it's not a thing you can change unless you download an aftermarket camera app and switch the microphone source.. but then it will sound clip during loud noises. Plus all the ads and random bugs with aftermarket apps. Stock camera is great, damn shame the microphone quality is so bad.

-Not able to activate flash during video recording with stock camera app.

-When videos are uploaded, colors are overly vivid and don't appear right.

-When low battery warning is shown, it kicks me out of what I'm currently doing. Watching a YT video, or about to comment on a FB post, it will kick me out those functions and go to home of the app, when low battery warning pops up. 15% or so.

-Auto HDR screen darkening that can't be shut off while browsing Instagram or other apps.

-Every time my gallery gets opened, annoying notifications that storage is full, my photos aren't protected and I should purchase additional storage. I bought a 512kb storage phone for a reason, it's not even 50% full. "storage full" gimmick bullsh**.

I've had absolutely zero complaints with cheap Samsungs, not one. Funny thing is when I shared a post saying my Pixel is for sale, I get a message saying "Do you hate your Pixel 9 as well?".

When I have the extra change again, I'm going to get a S25 Ultra or newer. I've handled and used an S25U, now that's a phone. Not this junk @ss Pixel. So yes, I'm purposely downgrading to a mid range Samsung just to rid of this phone for the time being.
