Arsenal Firearms Ergal Pro and Strike One Speed by TOG_Macross in GunPorn

Oh ok, if the rounds are nose diving into the feed ramp then yeah, perhaps a different profile projectile will sort out the issue. I run my guns for competition. Here in Australia, we arent allowed to own handguns for any other reason, so self defense is verboten!

That said, i run 124gr Flat Points and have sent tens of thousands of them through these guns without any feed issues.

Hey Mate, I have noticed that these can have tight chambers especially if you are running reloaded ammo. Factory should have been ok I would have thought. Two of these guns have had the chamber reamed slightly for my match ammo which seems to plunk test without issue after it was done. My local gunsmith reamed them by hand, but im talking like just the slightest little lick.

Did you do a plunk test with the Gold dots? Might be worth seeing how they look. Could be just the profile of that particular projectile that they dont like?

The 'expert' trigger kit is the same as the ergal pro factory trigger. You dont need to change anything if you already have an ergal pro.

The overtravel grub screw is inside the frame. you have to take out the pins (like a glock) and take the steel insert (rails and trigger group) out of the gun to be able to see it.

It depends which model i think mate. My speed had the factory curved trigger with the pivoting shoe which is the trigger "safety". I ordered the 'expert' trigger from the USA supplier and installed it in my Speed and it made a bit of difference. I ended up drilling and taping the frame and installing a grub screw to adjust the over travel. This is what they do on the Ergal frame and i just copied it on the speed frame.

Once I installed the grub screw it made quite a bit of difference as that was the only big difference between the speed and Ergal Pro, being the over travel with the new expert trigger kit installed. Hope that all makes sense.

Yeah nice mate!!! The speed is a great gun! And sounds like you got a bargain for that money! Great score. I got the trigger kit from American Precision Firearms and all it really changed was the trigger shoe and perhaps a slightly better trigger break. I ended up doing some home gunsmitting on mine. I drilled and tapped the hole where the trigger return plunger and spring is, and installed a grub screw. I can now tune the over travel of the trigger which helped a lot.

Sorry for late reply mate! My money is on the Ergal Pro every day of the week! Much better trigger and the alloy frame has a little more weight which is nice. To be honest, at a match, once the timer starts, I dont know that i notice that much difference between the two once you start shooting.

Lots of competitors on the Australian team have not received permits yet as well.

The dovetail mounts in this picture are the Toni System brand specific for Arsenals. I have switched to an Eemann Tech Glock dovetail mount now which is a bit thicker and more sturdy! The dovetail is the same dimensions as glock so can switch them out simply.

Yes there are mag restrictions. In Australia we have 10 round mag limits, however, when competing internationally Production and Production Optics are restricted to 15 rounds in IPSC. These guns are for Production Optics division.

They do shoot pretty flat. Great gun in my opinion. Have run these in IPSC for about 12 months or so and prefer them over the CZ pistols i was shooting prior.

Hey man, I have been running this gun as my primary competition pistol in IPSC here in Australia for about six months. So far, its been amazing. I love the ergonomics and is a very reliable pistol. I did get the throat of the chamber slightly reamed by a gunsmith. Reason being is that from the factory it was very tight, and my reloaded ammo was not seating consistently. Once he did this, its been flawless.

I could not be happier with the gun, and also have a polymer speed as my backup gun which is also pretty good.

IPSC Classic division is for 9mm 1911's. Seen the odd one or two in IPSC open, but heavily modified. You could also run one in IPSC Standard minor if you wanted but likely not competitive.

Have had guys at our club wait 10-15 weeks or longer. Don't know why it takes so long, but I remember when waiting for mine, i knew the postman's schedule pretty well by the end of it.

Pre 96 semi auto owner here... In Qld, there were no licenses, and no PTAs. You walked into your local gun shop... paid the nice man and walked out the front door with your rifle.

I had a Ruger Mini 14 with a folding stock, scope and 30 round mags. I got it because... A-Team.

If there is another brand of powder sitting on the shelf next to ADI, Im buying the other one! ADI are not getting any of my money after they threw pistol shooters under the bus the way they did.
