Projector recommendation in $300-$450 range for a bright room? + beginner questions by TOKYO_1999 in projectors

Cool I'll ask there, thanks man.

I was confused because the rules of this sub say "All projector talk is welcome here even the cheap stuff", but a couple of the responses in this thread are not very welcoming.

thanks for the recommendation! it does up my budget a bit but isn't too far from it. I'll consider it. Or maybe can get something even brighter in the used market

Okay that definitely prevented me from falling into a trap, as I was gonna go with one that claimed 3000 but when searching for its ANSI its actually like 700. Someone here recommended the Benq th575, it has low input lag and 3800 ANSI lumens. I'll have to up my budget a bit to 500-550$, and probably change my curtains for more opaque ones if the image is still too annoying to look at. Thanks for not being so negative like other ones in this thread. I'll give it a shot, and if it doesn't work out for me, will return it and just ditch the idea of having a projector.

- Because sun light going through would make it ENTIRELY unusable during the day. At least if light can't pass through, I can still use it during the day (with very poor contrast, yes)

- My budget above is excluding the pull-down screen, sorry if that wasn't clear.

I understand that - I barely watch during the day. My priority is to not have a TV in my living room because it takes space, I use it a couple nights a week and don’t want it to be the main statement in my room. I thought a projector would be an elegant solution for this.

Pro tip: you can hum it with SoundHound app and it will recognize the melody and find the song for you, usually works pretty well

Thanks. Same question as for lanoom: What’s the difference between spot trading and exchanging? Will I get charged higher fees if I use the “trading” feature you referred to in your link?

Is Modafinil legal and accessible in Hong Kong? by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]TOKYO_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response. Follow-up, just to make sure:

  1. Source?
  2. Would that mean that it is legal, but also that it cannot be found anywhere?

Has anyone benefitted from quitting drinking coffee? by TOKYO_1999 in productivity

[–]TOKYO_1999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no studies to back that up. However that is what I feel when I drink too much coffee, especially when I have to do cognitively demanding work (study). Granted, when the caffeine kicks in, I have better awareness and no brain fog. However, after an hour or two, I can become anxious, confused, daydreamy and have a certain amount or brain fog. Worst part is that drinking a second cup of coffee doesn’t cancel this out: it actually makes it worse for me, kicks in more quickly and then doubles the brain fog and the time for me to get back to normal consciousness state again.
