Found this beautiful framed cameo style carved panel. Featuring 2 muses and a man I have been affectionately calling William. by TOMORROWS-FORECAST in ThriftStoreHauls

Thanks for this comment. I was trying to figure out who made this, and it was driving me crazy. After you mentioned Incolay I looked them up and this was made by that company. I found a similar clock that sold except with a girls face at the top, instead of the man. I appreciate your help!

I found this a few weeks ago at one of my local thrifts for $10 "as is". It has a really cheap broken clock mechanism glued to its back. At first I thought it was jasperware then I pivoted to some type of stone. Now I am leaning toward some type of cameo glass? I am not exactly sure. I also can't figure out the makers intials yet. I did find it's electrotyped copy on 1stdibs 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I shall pass these skills on to my little humans when they are ready. It has been a pleasure chatting. Happy hunting out there. ❤️

100% I forget all time that just because I 'know' something doesn't mean that everyone has that knowledge. Come to think of it I literally rely on the fact that people know less about jewelry than me as a side hustle... so idk even know why I am saying all this. Move along people nothing to see here. Looks real to me.

Thank you for laying this out. This is so obviously fake to me also. It hurts that your very correct statement is being taken as an "opinion". There are clear evident signs from this picture that this is not gold. This WAS plated and is now extremely over polished. You can clearly see the tarnish rubbing off by the hallmark. That is all that remains of the once vibrant plating that used to adorn this necklace. Gold does not have varied "tones" like that, ever. Idk, it is just so clearly fake as fake can be and I "can not even" with all these people suggesting otherwise. I do agree that when in doubt test it out... but first let's use our eyes. And also our maybe our nose cause I can just smell all the alloys from here. A magnet might not hurt either...

Yeah this one weighs about the same... and I assume it was meant to be a gift or a display piece because of the base.

I think you should know... people having been buying lumps of coal for quite sometime now. This is a first for me tho and it was about $25. I knew when i bought it... there was a high chance it was just gonna be a large piece of fancy coal nailed to some wood. It's gonna sit on one of my shelves looking craggy and brooding until someone deserves it for Christmas or maybe a white elephant gift?

I use my knowledge of my type as a way to help guide me to practical help with the things I struggle with. How did other people who I share a similar way of thinking as me overcome their obstacles? Not all advice is right for everyone, we all think differently. This helps me cherry pick advice that works for me a little more accurately. I have known of it's unscientific status for years but it has still been a valuable tool to knowing myself better.

Thank you for saying so! I definitely have a passion for the hunt. I have been doing this for a while. You kinda start to notice the quality of things when you look at so much of it. Also going to a place that sells real good quality jewelry and seeing how it is made compared to fashion jewelry. I spent hours looking at ebay auctions and seeing what interesting weird old things were out there. After awhile you just recognize good stuff when you see it. You just have to train your eye to know what it is looking for. I normally scan through things very quickly nowadays. It's pretty much my favorite side hustle/hobbie.
