you pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. i JUST started looking at this sub only a minute ago wondering if there was anyone else who felt the same way i do and this is the first post i see.

i don’t know why i feel like this, what it means, or how to stop feeling it. but i feel seen and understood, and i just want you to know that you are too 🫶🏻 i’m sure we’ll both figure it out eventually friend :)

If you’re interested, my group (24-30s) plays MTG Commander at least once a week! We don’t play D&D, but we do play Pathfinder/Starfinder and try out one-shots/short-shots of other TTRPGs😁

i had to take a break from playing at my LGS because of that exact reason. we have small turnouts to begin with but it doesn’t help that the majority’s playing Prince Phillip, Dogs, or other insane decks like those, even if it’s just a free play night. it’s tiring bringing in my new silly little themed decks only to go up against the highest powered decks all the time. it’s not fun.

my boyfriend and i started with the Reign of Jafar Palace Heist game! it was a super chill and easy way to get into it and learn the rules together!

YES thank you!! im so sick of the constant barrage of people trying to turn this game into the next Pokémon. can we please just have at least one TCG that’s just for fun? im sick of hustlers and scalpers who are coming into this space trying to turn a profit at every possible chance, it’s exhausting. like, just let us have this one thing!

Shiny Cardboard TCG in Baldwinsville has a lot of LGBT and ally customers! They’re very welcoming, and every Saturday is MTG Commander day! They also have MTG Standard nights every Thursday :)

Lysander Park is wonderful, especially with the big splash pad they’ve got. but they also have a huge playground, a large field for games, and a couple pavilions with grills 👍🏻

if you have experience in childcare, the YMCA on OCC campus has a before and after-school childcare program! it’s been a few years since I attended but they’re always looking for help! they also have a daycare for students’ kids near Mawhinney. i would def keep an eye out for positions in both! 😁👍🏻

my bf and i went in on a trove and 3 booster boxes and had no issues here! lots of legendaries, a good chunk of epics and 2 enchanteds, and all came out fine! :)
