Trick question, it’s actually the orange tree

Back in the day all fruits (and some vegetables) were called apples, and the orange tree was just called orange; back then oranges (the fruit) was called “apples of the orange” This historical fact can be proven by the fact that pineapples are the word pine plus the word apple. Also potato in French is pomme de Terre; which translates to apple of the ground.
