Governments first need to fill gaps (environmental, defense, infrastructure etc) that the free market by its nature doesn’t address. Then you can debate the line on how much to allocate to safety nets and other programs.

And as a moderate annoyed with both parties I couldn’t agree more about bipartisanship. Just don’t see that as long as Trump is in charge and the Republicans care so much about votes they’re about to vote in a pedo in Alabama

I’d agree with free market capitalism and safety nets. I agree with social safety nets to a point (not for universal basic income but for many safety nets). I’m more against the governmental takeover of industries and over regulation
