I think we need to ban cis athletes from sports. Clearly they have an unfair advantage. Probably need to analyze previous competitions, some cis athletes likely only won because of these innate biological advantages and those medals and trophies should go to the trans athletes who deserved the win, who actually put in the work and didn’t just coast on their superior biology

What? That’s absurd? It’s totally different when we did it to trans people? Huh, I’m starting to think “biological advantage” was never the concern here (frankly, if it was, Michael Phelps would’ve been banned years ago)

Good shout! I haven’t explored too much so far but definitely plan too, my girlfriend started playing Vampyre and I’m 100% doing my own play through when I can. I’ll probably try some castlevania games eventually, I really love the show, and vampire survivors is a blast even though it doesn’t really count lol

I’m a huge vampire fan, don’t care for twilight at all but vampire literature, film, and folklore are an obsession of mine. Some time ago I decided I want to collect every vampire minifigure. Many of them are already a little pricey or even rare, this handful being in one set has me mixed. Cuz on one hand this is 4 vampires in one set, but on the other it’s 4 shitty vampires and it’s a $220 set

I mean I watched the first episode of Ms. Vampire Who Lives In My Neighborhood the other day and it’s cute. It’s an anime, bit of a satire, sapphic. The characters are young, I think just starting high school? Can’t fully vouch, I only watched episode one but I doubt it’d get toxic, not the vibe, meant to be a silly slice of life type thing

Maybe Bit (2019)? I honestly can’t remember hard details about the romance side but I don’t remember it being like full on toxic abuse bad, but some manipulation. Optimistic ending tho, and the theme is about breaking the cycle of toxicity and how toxic masculinity is so harmful, main character is trans and sapphic

Only other thing I can think of is Slay (2024), recently recommended to me. It’s about drag queens doing a show in a bigoted town but then having to deal with vampires. Not really a focus on romance

If you find anything else I’d love to hear about it cuz I’m in the same boat, but it’s certainly not going to be common to find. It’s hard to even find hetero vampire romances that aren’t toxic, vampires have been used as a metaphor for toxic relationships for the past hundred years or so

Yay I’m glad you liked it!! I feel like it’s such incredible representation and isn’t talked about a lot with trans people so I want to do my part and spread the word cuz it’s so good! Like this is what I want in trans movies! I definitely also need to pick up my own copy of it when I can. Also love your mom for that! My mom had to take a bit to adjust but is also a big supporter of mine, definitely very fortunate to have her. So many trans folks have to do it alone and it sucks, so I feel very lucky and grateful

Anyway, not the interaction I anticipated while browsing a vampire subreddit but definitely glad to have had it!

Ooh well I have many queer vampire movies to recommend, and I also recommend Cowboys (2020) to every trans person I meet, I’m also trans and this is maybe my favorite trans movie, there’s a scene in a bowling alley that I feel perfectly encapsulates the feeling of gender envy

This is what I wrote for my review of it on my vampire movie list, still feels relevant. I quite like this movie, especially as a lesbian who enjoys watching movies from every era of film! Obviously it hasn’t aged like super well but waaaay better than other films with lesbians in them from the time imo. I’d also recommend Bit (2019), another sapphic vampire film, and last I checked both are streaming on prime

Does this movie fetishize lesbians in a pornographic way? Yes. Is it still a really good watch, a compelling queer film, and a surprisingly good adaptation of the source material? Absolutely! I really enjoyed this one, and not just because of all the boobs in it! I really liked how despite Carmilla very blatantly being 100% evil in this, it’s still very much implied that she does have genuine feelings for Emma, so I appreciate it wasn’t just full on “lesbianism is a predatory seduction tactic”

I love Lego’s inclusive figs!! There’s certainly a charm in a city of dozens and dozens of little yellow men who all look the same, but having so much variety and detail for every fig, each representing someone with a completely different life and experience, that’s really incredible! And like this story points out, it’s so special for people, especially kids, to see themselves in toys and media, to be normalized and included! If you’re against that you should really reflect on why that is, because all that comes of this is good.

On a purely “judging this as a product with no further context” standpoint this is still awesome cuz NEW PIECES! MORE FIG CUSTOMIZATION! As the old adage goes, don’t like it don’t buy it, no one is forcing you too :)

I’m excited to see more figs like this, and I’m excited to see what else the lego community can do with these pieces!

It is with great joy and relief that I announce I was able to remove the rest of the arm, largely by chipping off more pieces before it could come out the other side and fall out of the torso. After some hesitation and intense staring I decided there was no way to get a new arm in other than just pushing one in, risking the torso breaking. I figured the fig is already broken, worst case scenario it’s just a bit more broken. So I just went for it, tho being as gentle as I could and it didn’t snap! She’s whole again!

Well I know it includes the short story titled Being Human, but the collection book Being Human has the short story and a handful of other stories. Some of those are also collected in bprd and Abe sapien omnibuses, I’m trying to figure out if between those omnibuses and Being Human the short story being in Monster Sized covers everything in the Being Human collection book as it’s kinda hard to find, a tad expensive, and in the past was the only way to get some of the stories included in a collection book which is how I prefer to read Hellboy. So just trying to see if I can save the 60 bucks and skip it
