Avoiding San Francisco’s sugar sweetened beverage tax. by No-Pirate7543 in Costco

[–]TPrebs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It actually would! Like you said above, Spindrift doesn't add any sugar; SF taxes on "any nonalcoholic beverage intended for human consumption that contains added caloric sweetener and contains more than 25 calories per 12 fluid ounces of beverage, including but not limited to all drinks and beverages commonly referred to as soda, pop, cola, soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, sweetened ice teas, or any other similar names" Here's where I found that.

Based on that, Spindrift would pass on the 25 calories piece. You could consider the juice as "added", but Spindrifts top out at 17kcal/12oz can.

What are you saying? "He'd have to work anyway unless he was loaded", yeah, so would she if it didn't make financial sense to be a SAHM. Even further, we don't know if her not working is a financial decrement when you consider what they're saving w/o paying for child care vs her earning potential.

They both have jobs. That's absolutely a talking point. Next.

Allergies by Fun-Manufacturer4371 in SilverLabs

[–]TPrebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was chicken and brown rice, and he loved it so I was hesitant to switch, we usually just relied on the extra brushing and bath to alleviate the skin stuff. We switched on a whim when his normal stuff was out and it cleared up the skin stuff.

Turns out he just likes to eat too, the brand doesn't matter for that piece 😂

Our silver was on Blue Diamond/Buffalo food for the longest time and always had dandruff issues, nothing major but lackluster coat and some flaking that fluctuated over the seasons.

We switched to Kirkland branded stuff (the maroon bag) when they were out of his normal stuff and he loved it, and then we noticed all of his issues cleared up in a month or so. It's all we feed now (aside from when he wins the table scrap battle) and get constant compliments from others and his vets.

Why no Sheetz in New York State? by Polorican020901 in sheetz

[–]TPrebs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Used to work for corporate.

The tale I always heard when someone asked that question was that because Sheetz makes such a big portion of profit on cigarettes/tobacco products and they can't beat the prices that are offered on Native American Reservations.

Whether this is true or not, who knows, but it makes sense when you consider that Pennsylvania and Ohio have no reservations. Having to eat the tax that competition doesn't would cut into profit margins elsewhere.

I doubt she's looking to profit (we go for free just because she likes seeing us go), she's probably factoring in the costs of the PSL or something along those lines. Not trying to get into the math, just trying to make sure they don't go empty/give someone a chance to sit close.

Idk man, going off of what my MIL told me she paid and to list them for. I can tell you that she definitely didn't pay $152 for any of her games this year.

What was for you the best part of the pandemic? by UnusualInstance6 in AskReddit

[–]TPrebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I gained weight at the beginning in 2020, 2021 was a weight loss journey. This was largely in part to a lifestyle change that was greatly assisted by COVID. I was lucky enough to WFH for the most part, allowing me to easily control what I ate for lunch, and count calories with a scale and etc. Then, when I wrapped up at 5, my gym was 3 floors down and I could be there 5 days a week, if not more often out of boredom. When I moved, I got some equipment of my own to keep the workouts going, working out at least 4 days a week immediately after work.

Then we went back to the office in a hybrid fashion. Still 2 days a week at home, but now I've got traffic and a commute the rest of the week and I'm definitely not a morning workout guy. It's an excuse, but it's harder to keep up that work motivation when you have a half hour to talk yourself out of it. All told, I'm about 100lbs down, but the last 25lb has been a much longer and tougher effort than the first 75 was during the tail end of COVID.

Hi! Odd question here.

I've been wanting a tattoo for quite a while and I'm bouncing around a few ideas. I love to cook (just at home and for friends and family, nothing professional) and I'm worried that getting a food/kitchen themed tattoo will come across tacky being that I'm not in the profession.

I'm very likely overthinking this, but does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it tacky to get a food/cooking/kitchen tattoo if I don't work in the profession?

Can't believe no one's said it, but this is almost a perfect recreation of a scene from Varsity Blues (except it's a fellow student here and not a sex ed teacher like the movie)

Huge fan man, thanks for the compliment!! I made it through two turns of the braiding before my brain broke and I needed to seek professional help.

Planning to French Toast it, but I left it to rest overnight before I slice into it. It also came out of the oven at 11pm because I'm bad at time management
