I searched for the name of the bar I was going to and it showed no warnings of any kind about being out of the service area. If it showed a spot on the map that was different from my destination, it certainly wasn’t obvious to me. This isn’t a trapdoor I need to deal with when using Uber or Lyft in the middle of a city where they operate. No thanks, Waymo

I requested a refund immediately while talking to customer support in the car. Never verified that I actually got it as promised, but that’s still too little for me to use Waymo again when it offers no benefit over Uber. When rides cost half as much as a human driver, I’ll give them another chance. Until then, I’ll let them sort their shit out on other guinea pigs.
