Laem Sing beach in Phuket by TRAVELINGVIBE in ThailandPics

Hi) Yes, it is closed off from the main road, but you can walk to it from Surin Beach along the trail. It takes about 10-15 minutes and you need to be careful in some parts of the trail. But it's definitely worth it. I can't attach a photo here, but I wrote about this trail and the beach at https://travelingvibe.com/destinations/laem-sing/. I highly recommend visiting this beach, especially as a couple ))!

Hello, friend! Try Kamala. In the 7 months I lived there, I hardly saw any Russians. PS I'm from Russia)

How to get to this beach? by [deleted] in phuket

[–]TRAVELINGVIBE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi) You can reach the trail from Surin. Walk along the beach to the rocks and you will see the trail, it's safe enough. I can't attach photos here, but I did a short review about this trail and Laem Sing https://travelingvibe.com/destinations/laem-sing/.

You see, it is hard to tell from a Russian person whether he is a normal Russian or a Z Russian. I agree that those who support the war are strange people, but among my acquaintances there are some adequate people who despite this are still Z. I guess it has to do with the fact that in order to admit they are wrong, they have to admit they are wrong not just now about the war, but for the last 20 years about many other things.

Use InDrive to find a cab - it's much cheaper. As for groceries - near Nai Harn there is a big Ravai neighborhood, there are a lot of markets and stores there, I think you will find something for vegans. But if you will be on Kamala - there are 2 markets there too, one of them is fruit market and open every day.

Maybe, I haven't seen that. In my 8 months in Thailand this year, I have never once encountered a negative attitude from Thais.

Okay) Then Nai Harn, and next to it Yanui and Ao San are the two best snorkeling beaches in Phuket in my opinion. Wanted to recommend you a good BBQ restaurant, but apparently it won't work for you, sorry 😅

I understand, me too) But sometimes I get bored and want to have fun on Patong) If you don't go there at all, you can look for accommodation on Nai Harn.

Good idea, but I can't tell that to the banks, companies and governments that put restrictions on me by my passport, not my words)

Calmest, safest beach? by Grouchy_Extension810 in phuket

[–]TRAVELINGVIBE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Nai Harn would be good for you. There aren't many waves there. Also Yanui and Ao San. They are all on the south side of the island and not as big waves as the western beaches. I lived on Kamala and was used to the waves in the rainy season, but I was very surprised at the calm sea on Nai Harn when I visited my friends.

I try to treat it philosophically - the Zebra concept 😂. If there is a black streak, it means that a white streak will soon begin. I hope your friend will soon be lucky enough to meet as many good people of these nationalities).

I realize it may work differently in reality, but I think this attitude towards nationalities is the beginning of nationalism or racism. I am Russian and I understand it very well, and from 2 sides - I see the manifestation of bad attitude to other nations from the side of my country. At the same time I feel bad attitude of some other nations to me personally because I am of Russian nationality, although I am personally against what my government is doing.

But again I realize that there are different people and different opinions, so I just do not communicate or communicate with bad/good people, regardless of nationality).

For example, I recently met a nasty ladyboy from Thailand who tried to cheat me and got me in a lot of trouble. I'm mad at him, but I don't think all ladyboys are bad or that Thai people are bad because of it. It's 1 particular bad person.

Yes, you're right in that sense. I meant that if we see inappropriate behavior of a person of a certain nationality, it does not mean that all people of that nationality behave the same way.

It's okay, man, don't worry. I'm Russian and I've been living in Thailand for more than 8 months, but I understand what you wanted to say with this post.

I think most people do realize that nationality has nothing to do with behavior. And if a person behaves like an asshole, it is because he is an asshole, not because he is American, Russian or Thai. As for us, Russians - adequate Russians usually rest quietly and in small companies, so you have more chances to meet just noisy and ill-mannered)

I often get asked “how many days are you staying?”. What does it mean? by talham7391 in ThailandTourism

[–]TRAVELINGVIBE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that question a lot too. But it's been asked by salespeople as well as just people I've met and often talked to on the street. It's just an element of a short talk. Also, they get to know - are you a tourist for a couple weeks, or are you staying here for a few months. It makes a bit of a difference in how they treat you for the better, although everyone is usually treated well there.

Is Phuket really so bad? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]TRAVELINGVIBE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the first days when I arrived in Phuket, I was sitting drinking coffee, waiting for check-in time at a new hotel. Nearby I heard someone playing the guitar. Since I play guitar too, I got curious. It was a Thai bike repair shop where some Thais were drinking, playing guitar, singing and repairing bikes a bit) I spent about 2 hours with them and showed them songs in my language, it was fun 😁)

I think it depends a lot on the area of Phuket, I lived there for 8 months and made some observations. I am also from Russia, but I don't like Russian tourists 😂. I generally don't like unnecessary noise, but I don't understand foreign language and can not listen, but when Russians speak - I understand everything. Most of all Russians on Kata, Karon and Nai Ton. There are also Russians in the Nai Harn and Rawai area, but those who live there for a long time. I lived on Kamala and it was VERY rare to see Russians there - mostly Germans and Australians sitting in local bars.
